Hi forumers... Wanted to ask some recommendations for debit card... Currently using CIMB Debit card but I find its not very versatile...

My usual spending habits using the debit card are:
- mainly fuel, some occasional grocery shopping & dining
- once in a while online purchasing: movie tickets, Groupon, books (this is where I think CIMB Debit card sucks, only those with CIMB Clicks verified can be used, otherwise no other online purchases at all)

So I would like a debit card with some cash-back benefits and able to use as credit card i.e. online purchases or at any VISA / MasterCard certified places or websites...

So far, I think the PBB Day2Day Card is the best option... Any other good recommendations?

Besides PBB Day2Day VISA debit card, another one is PBB ESSO VISA debit card.

Just for your info Esso Mobil offers the best loyalty rewards for points. (not related to debit or credit card at all)
RM1 gets you 1 point.
And 3000 points can redeemed RM45 worth of petrol.

Yes, you can do overseas withdrawal but you need to activate first.
Go to any public bank atm machine to activate. Just follow the option there. You can choose to activate permanently or base on time period.
Maybank charges RM12 per withdrawal, not sure about public bank tho.

I believe Paypal provides something like 30-day buyer protection. Do check that out.

Hoping to find someone to clarify what I should do. I recently bought something online from the Apps Store but forgot check my balance. I added funds into the account and everything should be fine but when I tried to add funds to my Steam Account(which I have done multiple times) it tells me the transaction has been declined by my bank. Question, is my Debit Card disabled due to the bad purchase? Should I call customer support to clarify or will the Bank allow me to use it again after a few days?

If you have no enough balance for the payment at Apps Store, I dont think you can have successful transaction... I not think it related with bad purchase....

Safer than credit card of course.
Coz you no longer can use if you do not have enough money inside your bank. Haha. rolleyes.gif

Hmmm. Need some recommendations from forumers regarding the whole Debit v Credit card problem. Going to KL as a student with my own place and stuff and I can get the HSBC Premier Debit/Credit card. Was wondering if anyone had experience with the debit card? Or how wide are the debit cards accepted?

Also, should I withdraw from an ATM of a different bank, I get charged a fee right? If so, what banks do you guys recommend?

I think mostly all local bank offer a fixed charge impose on withdraw made on other bank ATM (RM1).. While oversea bank will be around RM8 if not msitaken... Debit card in Malaysia is been used as Credit card.... I used mine Maybank Debit card and swipe at Legoland, Godiva, MBO, etc... It just different is Debit card you only manage to swipe if have the available fund inside also it cant be made for installment...
