I just converted my CIMB ATM card to a debit card. This is what you have to do. Bring your NRIC and old ATM card. There is no charge if your old ATM card is not a damaged one or lost. You fill in a form together with your bank account number (CASA). If your debit card is one linked with ATM use then it cannot be used for online transaction. Only stand alone debit cards can be used for online transaction. I hope this clear everyone's doubts.

Tried it just now, it works. Got 6% off for hotel bookings. But during that transaction, i've not receive the MSOS Code, it just simply proceed and made the payment. Is this something usual? Or should i call the bank to verify again?

You must be a RHB Bank Premier Banking customer to be eligible for this debit card.

Missed that bit, because I went into the details first, and thought there was something missing... according to this, one only needs to be above 18.

I have a question regarding Public Bank visa electron debit card. I was told by their customer support that I can't link the card to my existing saving account. Can anyone with PB visa electron debit card confirm this? I believe the guy has misinformed me. Quick search on google yields no less than a dozen of results which say that I could actually link the debit card to my account

First time i got the card so many times it failed due to the limit only being 500 RM. You have to set the limit bigger. But even then I still have problems like renewing my anti-virus subscription.

I do have my doubts in how international these Malaysian visa debit cards are. Let's say if I go travel overseas can these cards be used to do the deposit part when you check in a hotel?

Yes you can at any Visa logo merchants but you have to activate the overseas flag before your departure, this can be done through any Maybank ATMs or through Maybank 24 hours customer service center 1-300 88 6688.

public bank day2day debit card need to do anything to activate or not? like go to atm machine to set something.

all the while i treat it as an atm card only after opening savings account sometime ago.

Hello, I would like to use maybank debit card for online purchase. This is not a problem if the items are in stock and usually send out within few days. But what if I preorder something, let say releasing next month. How long will Maybank hold the pre-authorization amount? Will it become invalid if no following transaction taken place after many days? (coz seller only charge when they ship)
