Hello. I'm new here. Want to ask, how is the Bank Islam Visa Debit Card-i? Can use for online purchase at amazon etc.?

I just tried Tunemoney Bigcard prepaid visa, apparently visa will charge you 1usd for every online purchase. So expensive.

One can cancel this card and request for the old MEPS ATM card. The annual fee is still RM8. I will do that next year before the annual fee is due  tongue.gif

I doubt you can do that bro. I emailed CIMB and this is the reply:

We received your complaint on the above issue and we wish to inform you that the PMPC charges of RM15 was for the Debit Card cum the ATM card effective of August 2013, The Bank had migrated the ATM card to Debit Card function and did not issued any new ATM card anymore. For those maintaining the old ATM card will be charged RM8.00 until they change to Debit Card.

We sincerely hope that the above clarify your concern and once again apologized for any inconvenience caused

I got the reply that we can change to the old ATM card through CIMBClicks secured message. Anyway, will try next year and see how it goes. If they really no longer issue the normal ATM card then i will just close my account. I rarely use CIMB Bank nowadays anyway. I do however wonder, how about the ATM card/debit card for Basic Savings Account 2... hmm.gif

just ranting around:what is so special about CIMB Debit card that they can charge $15 instead of $12 that other banks charge? other banks also have their merchant discount and privileges, the verified by visa/mastercard securecode thing, even cashback. cimb debit card dont have any cashback, only the measly rewards point system

anyway will still use cimb.let see if other banks will follow suit and up debit card fee to $15.or will cimb u-turn its decision and go back to $12
or mastercard international increase the fees charged to cimb? hmm.gif thats y annual fees increase

When Public Bank first introduced the Day2Day VISA debit card, the annual fee was RM12/pa. However, they revised the annual fee to RM8/pa a year later when they started to market the PBB D2D VISA debit card more aggressively.

When it comes to unreasonable debit card annual fee, RHB Bank is the obvious winner. When RHB Bank first came out with their first debit MasterCard a few years ago, the annual fee was RM20/pa. After a while they reduced it to RM15/pa. But then they had a change of mind just a few months later and changed it back to RM20/pa. Anyhow, RHB Bank came out with yet another new debit card again last year named simply as RHB Debit Card (sky blue color) and the annual fee is only RM8/pa. This particular debit card however, doesn't have cash back feature or reward point system. But the good thing about this RHB Debit Card is that you still get to enjoy all the RHB Friday Specials offer thumbup.gif

Not sure if CIMB Bank will reconsider to lower their debit MasterCard annual fee but i wouldn't hold my breath.

I'm new to debit cards so I hope someone can help me smile.gif

I have a savings account at RHB so I was thinking of getting a debit card with them. I see a whole list of different debit cards on their site so I am a bit confused at the moment at which one to get. I was thinking of getting either the Cash-Connect Debit MasterCard or Cash Connect Visa Debit Card but do either one of these debit cards allow me to verify Paypal and link to both Paypal and Google Wallet without any problems? If not, can anyone tell me which of the other RHB debit cards can be used?

Thanks!

Hi, I'm relatively inexperienced when it comes to debit cards. I just changed my public bank ATM card today, and they gave me the public bank day2day card. I believe it can function as a debit card as well.

So I was wondering if I could use the day2day card to purchase apps off the Google Play Store (android apps)? Is there anything I need to do to activate the debit card function? Or can I just link the card straight to Google Wallet to make purchases? I would really appreciate it if anyone who had done this before can guide me regarding this.

Thanks.

I'm using the Maybank cherry card. Just wondering how come there is not TAC code feature on it when I purchase stuff online? Is there a way to activate the TAC like the one they have on M2U transfers?

With credit cards they also have that TAC feature but only me debit card doesn't.
