Hey Lyners,

I've just applied my very fist debit card - PBB debit card.

Use my debit card for Tesco groccery shopping. I noticed there's RM1 difference on the hold amount and my total purchase. That RM1 extra, is that a service fee for using my debit card at Tesco?

Erm... no. I don't think so. Do you still have the approval slip copy that you got from Tesco ? You should see if the amount in that approval slip is the same and if it is not, then you should dispute it.

You do not have to manually register for this service anymore. You only have to double confirm with the CS that they have registered your cellphone number for online purchase and that's all.

Public bank debit cards are really friendly for online transactions worldwide. My children has Public Bank debit card since they were 13 to 16 year old. Public Bank will issue statement monthly for your transaction. However, because they were under 18, they cannot sign up for online account. Sign up a joint Savings Account with your parents or older sibling and they can go sign up for the online account.

Get CIMB kwik card. No annual fee. It is pure online account with mastercard ability. Registration is free and online, RM10 for physical card.
Just tested it is working with steam, paypal, itunes etc.

OPPPS.. you must be 18 and above to apply.

Hi Lyners,

I've just recently applied my first debit card and did some transaction for groccery purchase. When I checked the my online account, I noticed there's a cash rebate worth RM0.99 added to my account.

What is cash rebate? And does anyone know the calculation for cash rebate?

Attached print screen.

Thank you for looking.

Does it means that I receive 0.8% cash back/rebate back to my account every time I use the card for purchase? or it's a monthly calculation?

Thank you.

No lah. I spend a total of 3.5 USD in 2 purchases. Saw wallet summary I lost 5.5 USD. The morning after that, 1 USD was returned to my wallet, so total deducted from wallet is 4.5 USD. I've ask support why but still no answer.  rclxub.gif  Is there something like first time purchase charge?
*
this $1 charge is called Temporary Authorization Charge (TAC). its temporarily charged to your account by the merchant to make "test" whether account is valid or not. it will be cancelled within 3-5 days.
