Only the build in external connector. And that is not working. I saw how  a mikrotik owner did it. Many really pissed with the respond and support they get. This are things they should do it right the first time.

can I use RB2011 and plug a SFP tranceriver to totally replace the Fiber modem that come with Unifi/Maxis FTTH?
*
Technically yes, but you need PON SFP and must be same brand as your current ONU.

If you have ALU ONU, I guess you are in luck, however that was the hardware part

You need to configure the PON SFP password exactly same as your ONU, and start praying that TM OLT using version that can support the SFP PON

Try google ALU GPON SFP ONT

There are many methods to do load balancing on MikroTik, you may try the ECMP method first, this is the easiest to setup but got some limitations, as stated at bottom of the page.

http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/ECMP_load_ba...with_masquerade

After that, if you are ready to put even more effort for even better load balancing, you can try these methods as shown by klseet. biggrin.gif

Hi all, this is my situation. I have two switch running ip range of 192.168.1.X and 192.168.2.X. I need to be able to get both ip range to ping each other. Around 50 computers in total.

Would anyone recommend a router and how to configure it?Thank you.

alot of data moving between the network ? then get a gigabit capable router...

then configure the network accordingly.. and the router will do the routing..

eg port1 192.168.1.X/255.255.255.0 , port 2 192.168.2.X/255.255.255.0

Just a few questions.

1)would this model RB951G-2HnD be suitable?
2)would the product be able to assign ip range for each port?
3)If yes for 2. Do I need to do the routing or the router would be smart enough for those two ip range to communicate?

Not sure on Mikrotik. If you have basic ACL, just put in RIP . RIP2, the router should do auto routing with (permit All All) in the ACL. If there are lots of data moving between the two IP zone you need to get a L3 switch with higher routing capacity.

The model you metion, the routing capacity does not reach 1Gbps, looking at the spec online with smallest packet size you get only 148.8Mbps rate, and higher the packet size faster the routing. But packet size are random. This is without rules, and on paper. In real life scenario it will not be at that level, may need to give some discount. Never the less, the 951 is pretty good for start and cheap for testing and trial.

Just buy and try la, not expensive.

After several weeks of testing I am stuck and about given up trying to get LACP working as it should. Perhaps a L2 switch would save me so much more grief, which I am just about to go get it. Hope someone could shed some light here.

My setup:-

RB2011 - Ports 1&2 connected to Mac bonded ports, Ports 3,4,5 connected to Synology running 802.3ad(LACP).

Both end seems to be ok, initially I can get over 140MBps over time it kinda slowed down to below 70MBps.

I broke the bond on my mac and can hit close to 100MBps on an individual connection.

Any ideas?

In theory it should work.

But since I don't have any hardware with bonded support, I am not able to give you any feedback/opinion.

Tried the Mikrotik User Forums?

Could it have been an issue with jumbo frames? I see you had 9000 MTU enabled on your bond @ the NAS but the RB2011 switches do 4k/2k MTU max. I usually use balance-rr as opposed to 802.3ad since that involves hashing on a per connection/device basis whereas balance-rr just throws ethernet frames across 2 or more interfaces.. so it's possible to go over 1Gbps for a single TCP connection.
