Will be a pain indeed to fix the ears... Good luck with it. smile.gif Her hair also looks quite senget imo. It doesn't look 'middle' enough to me. Or maybe it's just me.

Believe it or not, that IS how the hair is like on the 3D model sweat.gif Client was quite adamant on keeping the hair right. So yeah...

Her philtrum IS one of the defining features of her face, actually, although this will be softened in more paint passes, when I add more highlights to the eyes.

Right now... corrections applied, then DETAILS DETAILS DETAILS.

Cropped because client wants more focus on the face.

Less than a minute. I cut, shifted, painted over the odd seams, and pasted it back.

Agree with inachi.

I suggest using a ruler to draw more guide lines (instead of just the middle line and a few other outlines) so you can scale the car proportions better.

This is always a problem to me as well. Kinda hard to get a good balance between left and right, especially when drawing a frontal angle picture. smile.gif

Caucasian skin rarely have the orange/yellow tones found in Asian skin. The only time where Caucasian skin may be orange-y would be if the figure has been rather liberal with the self tanner biggrin.gif Caucasian skin tend to have a higher translucency and will reflect the colours of the light source and surrounding areas more.

It also depends on the background. Most of the backgrounds I've used in progress pics I'd posted so far use rather cool colours, and I use skin colours that reflect that coolness in order to prevent the figure from standing out TOO much.

The female Shepard I'd posted before is of the pale porcelain variety of skin, while the other work in progress, Sebastian Vael, is a lightly tanned Caucasian.

The image you submitted as an example is an Asian girl in a very bright warm pink, so naturally her skin will reflect that warmth and look almost orangey. smile.gif

Thanks, Sai91! I never really could get satisfactory results for the longest time. Took a lot of experimenting before I feel confident about skin colouring biggrin.gif

Unrelated, I feel like I'm on a roll here. Been experimenting with a new painting method, and it's awesome:

theyre both diff.. still have to start from scratch.. either way. (that is if you can draw at the very begining)
when i first use the tablet i felt like i got flashed back when i was 3 and drew for the very first time doh.gif. i was guessing the slippery-ness of the tablet surface caused it all.. which till now i cant get used to..currently i pasted a few piece of paper over the tablet to get that rough and soft paper feel.. and i know it wears the pen tip alot faster..

I USED to work with graphite pencils, occasionally watercolours, but my artistic knowledge only really started getting better when I got into digital art. I don't think it's the choice of medium that affected my skill, though; I just put in a lot more practice, and I started to seriously study artistic techniques, since digital art allows me to work at a speed that traditional art doesn't allow. You can actually see my skill and style change if you look through my gallery:

Depends on the tablet. The later models of Wacom tablets (at least Intuos4 onwards) have a rougher active surface. It does feel rather like hot-press paper (or card) when drawing on it. Other tablets tend to have the smooth, slippery plastic surface.
