just whacked a PCBANK 3VIEW 27" IPS QHD panel from Korea via ebay just now, total damage about SGD400.

Anybody face customs problem with this? Going to ship it to Johor directly. Hope not too many dead pixels.

juz gotten my ps3, but there is no input detected on my monitor. so i would like to ask the type of DVI needed to use.
user posted image
as per the above picture, does i need the exact DVI pin where it is 3 on left and right side while middle is missing 2 pin?

as the hdmi(f) - DVI (M) i'm using, the DVI(M) has full pin which is different from the above. is this the cause of no signal?

prompt reply is appreciated. sad.gif

using dell u2311h btw and the monitor is HDCP supported

There are a few, eg achieva, first, crossover, yamakasi catleap, etc. All are from Korea, made using the same panels used in high end apple and dell 27" displays. But they are rated A- so you might find a few dead pixels. Their dead pixel policy are shown in the ebay site.

You might or might not get any dead pixels, all depends on luck. They also sell perfect pixel monitors for about 30 usd extra, where they inspect the model to ensure no dead pixels before shipping to you. Otherwise, you get a random pick.

Anyway dell already launch their new AH-IPS 27" screen, only RM1700. Some would pay the extra RM700 for more features and warranty.

I brought 1 of these 27" IPS Korean LCD too about 3 weeks ago. I was lucky. My set dont have dead pixel and work well.
The monitor need to calibrate thought. Lucky I got a ColorMunki Calibration tool. Now the monitor look awesome

Why choose this over Dell 27 inches? Price and Glossy. Dell Anti-glare is good to reduce glare but it make the color slightly less vibrant and blur.

I choose Crossover that can Pivot because might get another 1 later.

Depends on what you looking for, the LG equivalent (IP236 or something similar) is cheaper by RM20~50.
Dell offer better warranty service and better features beside provide IPS panel, for me those features worth more than what you bargain for so Dell option is the better recommendation, but some said otherwise, it's up to you to choose. wink.gif

I'm using this model http://www.lg.com/au/it-monitors/lg-IPS236...escreen-monitor
I'm using it to connect to my MacBook pro...
The weird thing is, it can connect to my MacBook when I boot windows on it but not on Mac OSX...

I've even tried connecting it when my friend's MacBook...

But I can connect it to my friend's monitor(exact same model) without any issue...

You guys have any idea why?

Which cable did you use? Is it VGA, DVI or HDMI cable? Have you tried reset to factory defaults option (available on most monitors)? hmm.gif

Could be display resolution, refresh rate as well as cable problems. Worst case of course, could be the Dcaler mainboard problem (e.g. firmware issues). As mentioned earlier, try factory reset and see... wink.gif

I'm using a mini-dvi-hdmi adapter and HDMI cable... I've tried factory reset too, no luck =(

It's just weird... If I could connect it with the same laptop just booting up using windows... It should work...
Maybe I'll try a clean install of my Mac OSX
