I think the reason is pretty obvious when newer model releases and is priced more competitively compared to the older 2 yrs old model, and running on LED backlighting means savings in electricity and of course less heat. But I don't think it's factory tuned like the 2410 and 2711. I'm holding my bullets first as I'm looking for an upgrade as well.
