CRT monitor does not have color problem, unless your monitor color was set so bad or you didn't do color calibration on the CRT Monitor.

Another Reason on Blur may contributed by CRT Monitor are 4:3 resolution, please check your xbox360 display output are 16:9 or 4:3.
based on your assumption that you use 55inch Sony TV, you must be using 16:9 resolution output on both Sony TV and CRT Monitor.

And Judging from it, you must be using converter of VGA to HDMI for CRT monitor compability.
As i say previously, LCD Monitor that uses TN Panel has inferior color coverage compare to TV that uses VA (S-PVA)

LCD and LED Monitor are the basically the same thing with the only differences are the energy efficiency.

LCD Monitor use CCFL as Backlight brightness
LED Monitor use LED as Backlight brightness

They do not contribute to color. LED are just more energy efficient than CCFL used for backlight.

In the end, it is up to user setting for affecting the display, if you just plug and play without setting anything, then i would have nothing to say, and would only post this picture.
ya CRT not problem color just blur ghoost i already set 4:3 normail but not nice abit ghoost

due to 8yrs+ CRT start to cause eye tiredness

currently considering Dell U2312HM & LG IPS236V-PN
disregard on price, i want to know which one will be better
pro and con noted by any current user on any of the above model ?

because sometime the spec value is not true when tested.
so i want to know what is the different / impact of the below value to me
5ms & 8ms ,
250cd/m2 & 300cd/m
5,000,000:1 & 2,000,000:1

DVI = DVI-D ?
Using ATI 3450, can my GPU support both the listed LCD?
will DVI-HDMI port cause any quality loss?

Thanks in advance for all sifu here

The Dell doesn't have HDMI input. The LG has HDMI input. If HDMI connections are a factor to you, the LG may be more suitable.

By the way, anyone knows the lowest price of the LG IPS236V in Digital Mall? Planning to go there sometime this week and check this out. Advertised price is RM620 and some here have got it for RM599 which is 21 bucks cheaper.

DVI is a standard, it has the single link DVI-I and dual-link DVI-D which can carries much more bandwidth, for resolution 1920x1200 and above, also for monitors that support 120Hz.
Most modern GPU can support monitors up to 2560x1600, some might need newer GPU drivers and/or monitor drivers in order to get the optimum resolution.
DVI = HDMI (video signal) so there's no quality lost, the only difference is HDMI can also carry audio signal over the same cable.

Specifications wise, don't trust it too much as it's marketing gimmick and some reviews shows that they're overrated for some models, if you can afford, go for Dell U2312HM, it has other features such as multi-functional leg (can even has it as portrait mode, adjusting height to your comfort, etc.) and powered USB hub for your convenient.
If you want to plug your console or HDMI media player than go for the LG equivalent.

Dell U2410 vs Dell U2412M
------------------------------

Dear all Sifu,

any of you know how big is the difference between the two E-IPS and P-IPS panel?

the price is for P-IPS is the double of the E-IPS.

I wonder P-IPS color reproduction, input lag and pixel respone time is better than E-IPS panel by double.

Any suggestion for good LCD monitor? budget around RM2000. Perviously thinking of Samsung 27" 120Hz monitor. However no shop at lowyat demo 120Hz monitor. Viewnet or Startec (i cant recall) got Samsung 23" 120Hz Monitor, but it only run at 60Hz due to using HDMI cable.

FROM TFTCENTRAL: Dell U2410 Comparison

I know many people are going to be asking the question: "which is better, the U2410 or U2412M?" I'd like to start by re-iterating the point that the U2412M is not replacing the U2410, but rather will be a supplementary model in the UltraSharp range, aimed more at the mass consumer market and multimedia user. The U2410 is aimed more at professional graphics users and higher end work while also offering an all round feature and function set. The price point is lower on the U2412M than the U2410 but its features do vary.

If you want some numbers comparison, here you go...

honestly if u got 2k budget, get bigger screen lo
2410 is not great when u are looking at 10pt font size
and the anti glare coating got very bad crystalizing effect

local view sonic got bring in 26" screen, priced about 2000.
same IPS panel as very expensive NEC 2690wuxi professional color monitor, just the menu settings & factory calibration not as great as the professional one.

got nice kaki ayam as well biggrin.gif

according to what you say, 2k budget, get bigger screen, you can use that RM2k to get 40inch TV.

Btw, U2410 has very bad crystalizing effect? do you actually own one?
