i also planning to upgrade my monitor..currently using dell 24inch...3 years edi but still working very well..
so between Dell U2711 and Apple Thunderbolt Display (27-inch)..which one u guys prefer?

Problem with monitor,better send back for warranty..mine also have line like ur but blue color..already use it for more than 4 years..dell 19 inch

Yes thats correct i forget to mention about the adapter, one of the disadvantages..im not aware when buying it after the monitor deliver to my office then i notice it use adapter to supply the power..
If that not bother you i suggest you better buy it..im
Pretty sure you will satisfy with the monitor, why not saving for few bucks and get the best deal out there
