QUOTE(xMika @ Aug 31 2011, 03:52 AM) i would say he is over the hill.. don't get me wrong.. he was an excellent player back then.. the keyword here is back then..right now he is more of a deadwood and an expensive player to have playing for the reserves.. with him leaving, and hopefully cole and degen to follow, we could free up the wage bill and get players who will help us improve the squad.. |

Liverpool Sign Sebastian Coates Liverpool have completed the signing of Sebastian Coates after the player was granted a full work permit today. The Uruguayan joins from Club Nacional for around £6m. There had been a delay in confirmation of the Coates deal but it is now understood to have been finalised upon receipt of a work permit, for which he qualified as an international player with outstanding potential. The 20-year-old shares the same birthday as ex-red Sami Hyypia, and is also the same height. If he turns out to be half the player that Sami was then the Anfield faithful will take to him very well indeed. The official club statement read: Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Uruguay international Sebastian Coates on a long-term contract. The 20-year-old completed his transfer from Nacional after passing a medical and securing a work permit earlier today. Coates will now link up with his international teammates ahead of their friendly in Kiev on Friday night. SOS |

QUOTE(hyperyouth_firepower @ Aug 30 2011, 11:07 PM) hmm, i'm still pondering that we ought to have one more striker? how do you guys think? or are we good with 4, Kuyt, Ngog, Suarez and Caroll? I don't think we're in dire need of one especially if you consider we're only fighting on 3 fronts this season. Also, we have the likes of Adam Morgan and Michael Ngoo waiting in the wings. Would be nice for them to have some exposure. Ngoo looks to be a more athletic version of Andy Carroll. QUOTE(xMika @ Aug 31 2011, 03:52 AM) Yup.Added on August 31, 2011, 8:38 amI love that King Kenny is back at the helm since crying out for his return almost 2 seasons ago but I really am concerned over the issue of one Raul Meireles. Seems we're doing all we can to flog him off. http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/football/8738...ul-meireles-bid? Fine maybe our wage bill does have to be trimmed but Meireles was key to us last season especially when Stevie was out. I think Meireles has an abundance of talent and it's no wonder Chelsea are willing to part with 8$ million plus Benayoun for him. He did after all score our winner last season at the bridge. I know Jonno is with me on this, we spoke about Meireles last season and both of us thought he was a top class player even when Hodgson decided he was better suited as a right winger. It'll be sad to see Mr. "Cool as f**k" go sigh... This post has been edited by Duke Red: Aug 31 2011, 08:38 AM |
