imo, taking benny back will be stupid.
and i believe KD is not stupid. benny obviously left cos he wasnt getting any playtime, now he wants to leave chelsea for the same reason... but hes definitely not going to get any playtime in lfc either...so like they say...bugger off. Added on August 30, 2011, 4:42 pm QUOTE(Mikeshashimi @ Aug 30 2011, 09:41 AM) definitely biased. no surprise. a one legged, blind midfielder is still better than carrick.but i agree Reina > De Gea Lucas > Carrick others i think man u players have the edge. Close call Young > Downing Suarez > Berba and because im biased: Carragher 1000000+ > Ferdinand This post has been edited by Everdying: Aug 30 2011, 04:42 PM |

considering poulsen is the captain of the danish national team, and agger has to be under him...means hes not that bad...just not suited for the english game

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Aug 30 2011, 10:58 PM) We did have good times under GH. When was the last time we won 5 cups in a single season? Problem was we became very one dimensional and predictable. thats probably cos he was forced out to the left at Villa due to downing playing on the right side more often Added on August 30, 2011, 11:01 pmMmm Ashley Young isn't a conventional winger though is he? I mean his stronger foot is his right one but he plays on the left, much like our Joe Cole. guess after time hes gotten used to that left side...tho both of them were inter-changeable at Villa... but i'm liking KD's new attack minded side again...after woy broke LFC with his defensive tactics... since we got coates now, guess we're not getting gary cahill who thinks hes a forward now lets see how many goals coates can score for us...i just hope tho that he can adapt to the pace fast enough and not give away too many defensive fouls. |

QUOTE(nando @ Sep 1 2011, 01:08 PM) i just read that Arteta accepted a pay cut....from 75k a week to 55k...just to join Arsenal... wonder why we didnt make any offers for arteta...a good example that there are players out there who are willing to take a pay cut to play CL football and play for a big club... or perhaps that would just cause all the everton fans to jump into the river... 10m is damn good value that arsenal got for him. |

QUOTE(leaF @ Sep 1 2011, 11:32 PM) I think he is too old and slow to play on right wing roles nowadays...in midfielder we have charlie who do the playmaker job zzz...hes only 29...still got a couple yrs left in him...of cos his best season was like 3yrs ago...but thats not too long ago and who says anything about replacing Adam? btw, Arteta can play anywhere in midfield...including defensive which is where he started out as |

QUOTE(hfi @ Sep 2 2011, 11:46 AM) It's not about sentiments, it's a fact that he's the best DM in the team. No one can do what he does, not even Gerrard - at least not without you sacrificing Gerrard's other abilities which is attacking and terrorizing the oppositions. If you were to ask the oppositions whether they prefer Gerrard to stay back defending or attacking them i bet they would choose the former. Also a lot of people thinks it's easy to play DM when it's actually not. It's not just about getting yourself dirty going down tackling. It's also about reading the game and having the tactical discipline to stay in sync with the rest of the team. I can't be bothered to find the quotes but there are plethora of quotes from managers and coaches who claimed Gerrard simply do not have the tactical brain to become a central midfielder. At this point of his career, there's no point to reinvent the wheels and have him do something which he has not able to do with great success. I know what you're trying to say but for me it's counter productive to force out a DM out of hte team so we could play an attacking minded player to play as a DM. about lucas, just reminds me of a quote - in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.so he doesnt necessarily have to be the best, but probably the only option so far. imo, to play our other midfielders in a defensive position would be a real waste of their attacking talents. |

QUOTE(hyperyouth_firepower @ Sep 2 2011, 02:00 PM) anyways if you have your brains busted reading this, back to the Lucas vs Gerrard on DM role, my point is Lucas has been doing it almost his entire career, and he plays well to the orchestra, no under-doing, no overdoing it. no need to hide the fact that there were lots of guys here posting videos of how Lucas was a very good attacking midfielder in brazil...but the sad truth is once he arrives here the pace of the game doesnt give Lucas any time to create anything... |

QUOTE(LukeMjstc @ Sep 2 2011, 02:59 PM) TBH, Gerrard's defensive skills are kinda reckless... The most I remember abt him was chasing back and do a sliding tackle whenever he lost a man... just to refresh your memory here.Tat's why I don't really think he fit the shoe as a DM... He can play as Xabi Alonso, but not Lucas. As far as I am concerned, without Lucas, our rather weak defensive line should've conceded hell lots of goals. last season we conceded 44 goals...before that 35. our best season where we finished 2nd, only 27 goals...and we all know the lineup during then. |

Damn!! sounds like Torres liaw !! !@#$$%%^&**(( obviously hes not going to get much playtime with the new lfc squad. and with euro qualifiers and euro next yr, he needs all the playtime he can get. torres on the other hand can go die. |

couple of Shankly quotes.
"never cultivate anything around your mouth that grows wild around your arse." "any car, any colour but blue" - if not mistaken said to Keegan when he wanted to buy a new car. ‘I’ve just heard that you’ve got a blue car, bloody sell it!” - to Phil Thompson. i wonder if Shankly would be rolling in his grave just looking at our current 3rd kit. |

QUOTE(80toyshop @ Sep 5 2011, 06:06 PM) Agreed, but we need to find a way to integrate him n help him start scoring consistently, this is a long season n we're short of cover up front if suarez is injured& carroll not scoring, we're in big trouble. kuyt can play up front, and thats why we re-signed bellamy |
