Just want to say that Lucas was sensational. Yesterday's performance was the best I've seen from him. He's usually already giving top performance but yesterday he was particularly brilliant. The combination of him and Adam was reminiscent of the time when we had Masc and Alonso bossing the midfield. His positioning and movement was world class. He didn't need to slide in, he just kinda did it the Lucas way. He anticipated Bolton's movement like reading it off a book. In the first half, he was breaking down play like a patriot missile intercepting scuds. Zeroing in and clearing danger before it could even happen. At times, the bolton playres had 1 sec max to play the ball before Lucas came and took it way from them. Utter brilliant performance.
Yups..totally agreed. Lucas is our unsung hero. Tackling in, delaying and stopping opposition play..Brilliant performance by him. And as normeck said, it will be worrying if Lucas got injured..we only have Spearing to act as backup..
if stevie back, who is going to be dropped to deep position ? Adam or Gerrard ? I guess Gerrard is more experienced at forward position, that means adam is going to be dropped deep providing the long ball, same thing Liverpool did when Alonso was around
I think gerrard will be employed in forward position, as a playmaker. lucas will stay as it is, acting as defensive midfielder and supporting the back four. Adam will be on the bench, as sub to gerrard..
Or gerrard will be played at right side, replacing henderson..
Just dropped by Rafa's website...and saw his technical analysis of the comparison between La Liga and EPL.
Oh my, no wonder many people mentioned that he is one of the most technical managers out there. The numbers, the stats and all...he can be a math teacher I think!
haha..thats why..a very detailed analysis..utilizing technical and statistic...a very good one indeed.
Funny should you say that, you might want to check on your 'kins' about that bolded part as well. Like, how we have the best midfield. Or how the partnership of Suarez and Carroll is the ultimate, bla bla bla.
Confidence is good but over-analyse or in simpler terms bigging up yourself is more precise, I'd say. In this case, I would say that article and some of your lots are practically much the same annoying bunch.
I would still say United's midfield is no good/better than Arsenal's(when they had Fabregas and Nasri).
There's confidence and there's talking shit. Until it is proven, well, that's when you can gloat around. Otherwise, it's better to mum things to yourselves. Simple, really.
And its even simpler for you to stop posting in this thread..
Agreed with Duke Red, REDShaun n leaF comments...our target this season is only to be in top 4... n we played as usual yesterday..just that Stoke parked their bus and luck is not on our side..Even King Kenny himself is frustrated. To all fans here that criticized players and the managers, you should look at the overall of the game. N we critized Carra for his mistake? Come on man..he's been defending very good throughout the game... Here is King Kenny comment after the game.
""We would like to be respectful towards referees. I think I have been respectful to referees, but more importantly than being respectful to referees in their campaign it's about having respect for my football club, Liverpool Football Club.
"If I feel they (Liverpool FC) are suffering in any shape of form then maybe I need to go down the same route as some other people go and see if we can get some benefit from that. I'll speak to the owners first and see what they say because the last thing I want is for my behaviour to infringe on the club's success in any way, shape or form."
Here's proof that you can be tuned into the same channel but watching a totally different game. When Bellamy and Carroll came on, Stoke were already defending their lead, hence they played deeper, pressed less and invited us on to them. It's football 101 and many teams do this late in the game when they are winning. Therefore it gives you the impression that we pressing them back by playing awesome football. Precisely. I'm wondering where some people got the impression that we were going for the title this season. Suddenly all of what John Henry said about building a winning team for the long term has been forgotten. If you ask me if I would rather he just spend aimlessly and buy us success, I'd give you an emphatic "no!". I like what Fenway group are doing. We've signed a much more lucrative deal with Standard Chartered and have secured a massive deal with Warrior as kit sponsors. Things are finally moving forward. I just wish that people would look at the bigger picture and have a better understanding of what's going on in the club. For that to happen however, one needs to read even if this stuff seems boring.

Hope you had a good Raya bro. We need to meet up for a game again soon
Today should be a happy day for me. My colleagues and I will be leaving for Janda Baik soon for our team building exercise. However my thoughts are fixated on a man who made us what we are today. A man who literally rolled up his sleeves to personally help rebuild an ailing club. A man who is gone but should never ever be forgotten. I never met the man nor was I even a fan when he left us but it speaks volumes of his stature that even so, someone like me can feel so connected. Having read about him and listened to stories from the lucky few who knew him, it's as though I do know him but that was Shankly for you. Someone who was so in tuned with the fans, who was always willing to listen, to stop to have a chat and to give us his time of day.
It's weird Shanks. I never met you and yet I miss you.
They might have taken you away 30 years ago, but we will never forget what you have done for us. You took us from being an ailing club languishing in the 2nd division to being one of the most feared sides in Europe. You instilled in us values that we hold dear to until today. They may accuse us of living in the past but that is just testament to you and what you achieved. That we still talk about you like you were still around yesterday tells you how much we miss you. It tells you how grateful we are not just to have had you as a manager, but a fellow fan. You may be gone but I guarantee, you will never be forgotten. Rest in peace Bill. Just as you are always looking down on us from above, we are always looking back up. YNWA.
