I have a problem with my PS2.

I cannot switch on my PS2. When I switch on, the red light will change to green of a second then it change back to red. I had trying many times to switch on but my PS2 still cannot on.

I owned a PS2 slim version.

Currently i'm looking some device to connect with my lcd. Which one better either:-

-Farmer Vga Box
-LCD Tv Box ( http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=264814&hl=vcool )

Need some opinion from ur guys. Thanks.

DQVIII, correct? My PS2 (fat) can play it just fine. Probably the media problem?

Got a problem here.

The problem is the motor to spin the cd/dvd is not spinning. Is it repairable? How much would it cost?

It is repairable. Not sure about the cost though.

Did it suddenly stop working or what?

I not sure. Cause I didnt play with it. I jus went back hometown and find out when my bro told me cannot play de. So I bring it back to KL for repair. When I test it myself I noticed the spinning mechanism is not spinning.

i have a problem.....my ps2slim can play games fine but can't seem to play any DVD movie!!!

with the movie dvd inside
press the power button ~3 sec and let go
then everything is okay

to play game
maybe shut off and on as normal( no hold pressing the button)

just stop ? hm.. not sure. rarely encounter this before. maybe you can send to me first and ask for techni to sum the value ?

cannot play CD game


buy can play DVD5 game and DVD9 movie

because for ORI GAMES, THERE ARE DVD 9 .. eg champions of norrath, gt4, mgs2 substance...kalau tak how he wants to play ORI games.

I purchased a new Dualshock2 controller and the R1 button keeps locking.

First - it did not come in the original case/box. It was in some blue plastic bag he took from the rack. The guy keeps claiming that it's the original one .. and he showed me side by side how the $40+ non-original differed from this supposed original ($90) when I purchased it.

Second - Is ti me or do the controllers feel different. First controller (with the 1st PS2, original from the box), to the yellow one I got from Sony Online (Malaysia) .. to this one (and the one that came with the slim PS2). Do controllers differ by year they are manufactured since they all feel different - even the original black vs. original yellow.

He keeps claiming that it's an original one but I keep having my doubts. No refund of course so did I pay 2x for a knockoff, albeit a better made knockoff? I need a quick answer as I will be going to return it this evening.

Btw the supposed 'original' that came with the slim PS2 from October .. is now kaput. The original original that came with the fat PS2 is still running perfect.

My fat PS2 can't eject. When i push the eject button, it eject slightly and i have to pull all the way to insert the disk. Playing the games is no problem.

I did open and try to repair may self. The problem is still there. Where I can repair this problem? Can this problem be repair?

Please help.

sekebedragon, it can be fix by changing the new dvd drive for ps2, or a gear inside? try send to shop, Djinn might know..

that is the motor problem. why go to trouble changing the whole thing? simple la..just exchange the motor only.
