I purchased a new Dualshock2 controller and the R1 button keeps locking.

First - it did not come in the original case/box. It was in some blue plastic bag he took from the rack. The guy keeps claiming that it's the original one .. and he showed me side by side how the $40+ non-original differed from this supposed original ($90) when I purchased it.

Second - Is ti me or do the controllers feel different. First controller (with the 1st PS2, original from the box), to the yellow one I got from Sony Online (Malaysia) .. to this one (and the one that came with the slim PS2). Do controllers differ by year they are manufactured since they all feel different - even the original black vs. original yellow.

He keeps claiming that it's an original one but I keep having my doubts. No refund of course so did I pay 2x for a knockoff, albeit a better made knockoff? I need a quick answer as I will be going to return it this evening.

Btw the supposed 'original' that came with the slim PS2 from October .. is now kaput. The original original that came with the fat PS2 is still running perfect.
