3000 still consider less and all spare parts are fully imported.

i think the spare parts price should be fixed at honda SC no matter how many owners. like i said, unless u are not going to honda SC for service in future, else i dun see that there will be a bit prob tongue.gif

besides, claiming parts are quite fast for abt one week time only. (for my case)

We all know the car jerks. But I drive like a jerk now. Heck, I drive my Kenari faster than I drive my Insight.

Is it just me or are all Insight drivers obsessed with hypermiling? Even driving at 70 - 80km/hr on highway, I always manage to overtake a lot of Insights. I think we are the reason for traffic jam in KL now.

Cheers from fellow jerk in a jerky car.
*
haha anyway the highway speed limit is 80-90kmh in town area so who dare to compalin we drive slow haha i do drive slower than before i drive a satria all due to the green light haha

QUOTE(calvin_ng @ Sep 15 2011, 12:21 PM)
infact if I drive normal I get better FC compared to drive like a snail...

the computer onboard function to tell you if you over accelerate and be gentle on your throttle not drive like a snail...

it is to train you to press the accelerator in pace insted of slamming it to the floor...

there is a difference of driving eco style and driving slow... and slow doesnt mean fuel efficiency....
*
yes press the padal like if u are pressing a egg lol

QUOTE(calvin_ng @ Sep 16 2011, 08:17 AM)
Bro...

Find me a made in japan car for rm99k then we talk
A city is a whole different car...
People who buy insight wanted to do their part on saving energy and fuel also this car is handsome :-)
*
sure do have a lot of handsome and lenglui in this topic ahha

kns, so busy until no time to troll LYN nowadays.

Got my trophy @ 7800 km months ago...but didnt manage to capture. It just pop out of the blue. I remember joshua bro got his trophy also around 7500 km. You can choose to reset them, but didnt bother to do it.

Nice stuff medklinn! Have one at home, but not for car interior. Definitely helps, especially I'm a sinus guy  blush.gif

Just to share my FC observed for the past 6 months:

Previous service - 10km
Next service - 15km

Trip detail to work - 45km one way (from Port Klang to Mutiara Damansara). Use NKVE, exit @ Subang Interchange. So averagely is 40% highway, 60% city (I dun consider LDP as highway btw)

FC with ECON - 20-21 km/l
FC without ECON - 18-19 km/l

All of this are observed between home and working place. I'm driving normally like my previous ride (1.5, manual) albeit more manipulation of momentum & medium throttle to 70-90km/h from idle, so I'm mostly in blue and dark blue zone from 0-70 (I dun crawl like snail and maintain green zone). Average speed on highway is 110-120km/h. Occasional WOT to 4k rpm for overtaking. (5k rpm with S mode).

So in summary, the FC largely depends on the right foot, type of journey covered and momentum manipulation. Oh yea, please monitor your RPM as well, it helps. Sometimes highway also can experience stop and go traffic ( vmad.gif NKVE  vmad.gif ), or smooth city driving, and these affect FC reading.

One thing worth to take note of our Insight RPM:
100km/h - 2000 rpm
125km/h - 2500 rpm

So it is still fuel-efficient to maintain speeds between 100km/h to 120km/h. Even myvi and vios can only reach 80km/h @ 2000 rpm (also observed from my sisters' cars)
*
maintain at 80-90 u will get 22km/l lol but hack i just cant tahan and end up 125km from SG back to kl lol

My brother told me the price for his Golf GTi is only 50 something thousand as stated on his AP. It is the same as Insight's. Imagine in countries where there is only low tax imposed on cars, it would be more affordable to own a Golf. Insight might have better FC, but it has high running cost. Golf Tsi has very good FC and somewhat lower running cost.
*
hmm, i dunno how much tax is imposed in UK, but one of the Golf is selling for 18k+ Pound there... slightly cheaper than our Insight

You can get golf from 15k in UK if I recall correctly. Insight is not popular there due to the high price tag and tight competition of Prius if I could just throw a few thousand and get Prius instead lol.

Yeah lol, but I cant even remember the fuel price back when I was there. I think its a little more than a pound back in '04 when it was 1 pound to RM7.

Their freshie annual wage is around 18-20K pound a year (before deducting their crazy taxes of around 20-30% even for lower band), but it comes with lots of benefits. One way of evading taxes is working at a Chinese restaurant lol. Both never wanted to disclose information of themselves.

Perodua Kelisa sells below 3000 pounds lol. Means you can afford a car easily, but there is no point driving around there. Their cities are so small you can walk from one end to the other in less than a day. Except for London or maybe Birmingham.

Lol, this would mean their freshie annual salary after taxes can get them a Golf? Theoretically la of course, since you need 200 to 400 pound to survive there. But I managed to do so on 150 pound not inclusive of rent. It was not that hard, you just need to cook yourself.

They can buy a 2nd hand golf with just 2-3 month salary whistling.gif

Btw insight is priced 16.7k in UK and Prius is 20k so just add 4k and you get much powerful hybrid lol.

FYI hybrid and electric cars in UK are more expensive due to the technology and also tax. I see Nissan Leaf was price tag is around 26k lol I was stunned. who wants to buy slow and expensive car tongue.gif I rather but a fiat 500. Cheap and cheerful

Fiat's Twinair definitely is worthy of praise. And OMG, its so cute.

In America, they do offer tax rebates for earlier batch of Leafs/Leaves. Not sure if they still offer that rebate. I heard drivers had anxiety attack due to the range limit. Its because of America's 110VAC supply causes a longer charging period and by the time it leaves home, it wont be fully charged.

Got my Insight on 16 Sept 2011. So far travelled 498km with another 350km range still available. FC is 22.7km. Superb handling in yesterday's heavy downpour up to Bangi. For 100k price, I would say it is value for money in Malaysia considering the ridiculous car prices. But looks like they are still killing us with an extra 20k for the AP.

I wasn't hypermiling but maintained below 110km/h with 4 persons and luggage plus full tank. 75% with Econ On. 25% with Econ Off. Btw, how do stop the engine auto stop at traffic light without moving to P?

Else fail, put in P or L? Do consider R 1st though.

Yeah in UK carbon emission play and important factor in determining the tax and also congestion charge. Hence the new insight facelift is a good move with the lower carbon emission.

Leaf and iMiev are still overpriced in UK. We shall see how it goes in near future

And yea Fiat 500 twinair is cute, cheap, cheerful and low carbon emission as well. Comparable to insight. The dashboard for Fiat 500 is so classic and elegant.

I have to squeeze in my car porch and the engine stops and starts too often but just now with the Econ off, it moved without stopping.

The audio system is just so so. I have been advised not to strain the battery and the computer system by adding extras, such as an Amp. Anyone tried without affecting the lifespan of the normal battery or is it too early to tell?

I was thinking what a crazy idea rclxub.gif wondered how many cars you kissed. tongue.gif I didn't wait long. The car had just arrived on the 10th and placed a booking on the same day. Car was ready on Wednesday but I collected on the 16th.

Unig was right.

And to Calvin, I am okay with the bass but the fidelity is below my expectations. Any difference in FC and performance after installing the active sub. Technically, I believe extra load to the electrical system may void the warranty. Solutions?iPod?

Did not feel any extra load at all maybee this is due to only very small current draw from the subs

Yours is quick, dude. I waited 1 week after loan was approved. The side step was scratched too, but I was too lazy to bother. Gonna install scuff plate later.

Fiesta's shape still amazes me still and I usually try to follow them closely to check it out. Too bad its rear seats are useless.
