Going to buy my Galaxy S2 shortly. Anything that I should look out for in particular when checking the unit?
*
just make sure the shop agree to let you have another unit if you get even 1 dead pixel. get them to do the screen test. check page 1 for the code. you might wanna write in down in case the shop fella try to be funny and say dunno how to do the test.

Seems like everyone constantly changing from one rom to another..good for you guys..but out of curiosity, dont you guys felt tired?
*
maybe these are actually the unofficial beta testers... so many firmware out but not officially released to everyone. so could be actually marked beta by Samsung and released... the version that comes back with the most positive reviews (and least complaints) then officially gets released and pushed to others?!? smile.gif

Just ask them to perform a phone check or test. They will do for you the lcd screen test.

Thanks. I don't want to come across as too much of a phone noob. But I probably gave myself away when my reply to their question of why I decided to choose the Galaxy S2 was, "Big screen, good for cheating my kids, no? And it's the same brand as my TV at home...can play Angry Birds on a 42" screen, right?"

check screen, low brightness got any spots lines, dial *#0*# enter screentest menu, test for dead pixels, then proceed to test every single thing offered in the screentest menu. Then shake the phone, any sounds? then use camera test for pink spot, aim at white wall in low lvl condition, drag the notification bar down to get a grey background, then test see got yellow banding/tint at the left side or not. thats all i can remember now, u can try read page 1, good luck

i think its been a month since i started using sgp silke... now the case starts to feel loose... i won't advice ppl to get this case.
*
Both of my SGP loose already, I think because of universal concept which made it loose. Both are collecting dust and now using cheap-cheap casing, better grip and cold some more (metal case).

I would say the Speedfrey issue if you're running the default kernel.

Anyone on Digi tested fast dormancy?

I tested and it seem like without FD, speed is more stable and around 20% faster.

Trying ninpo 2.0.5 again. I removed SetCPU first, then only reflash ninpo. then create fresh profile on SetCPU for screen off and little of undervolt. testing it now

Well, the ROM won't work for you then. Actually, I ran it for about 15 minutes then downgrade coz of bluetooth issue.

have to bruce.gif you for not sharing this earlier... lol... since you used sgp before... the weight... the imak case... does it add a lot more compared to sgp case (ideally if can compare with silke would be good). need to get an indication of how much it will add).

I see that many things in batista are already in Lite'Ning Rom... which is more stable. The most common issue is the bluetooth issue i think.

Probably the only thing good about the batista rom compared to the Lite'Ning Rom is the undervolting which might benefit SOME devices which have no issue whatsoever with undervolting but based on the responses of the forumers in xda, it looks like to be quite a dominant issue.

Which feature would be the MOST sure-get for the batista compared to Lite'Ning?

Well, this is a cheap-cheap case... malu nak share laaa. Everyone here talk about SGP, Otter, Zenus, Casemate etc.

The built quality is not up to SGP in terms of the cutouts, nothing wrong with the materials. A bit heavier than Silke and Neo Hybrid. Got camera lens protector.

Haha. Depends on where you buy. I bought from SEP 1 Utama and I asked them to try for me. So they open the box in front of me to try lo. Also ask them that you want a 1 - 1 exchange within a week or at least a few days in case of anything happen. Hehe

IMO, I dont see anything extra on Lite'ning. All i see is a lil bit different interface. after I tried Batista, Cognition, I dont think i wanna go back to Lite'ning.

I was a Lite'ning fan coz it was the first custom ROM i flashed on the phone and this is my first android. so yea tongue.gif
