Battery life at the cost of:
a) No logcat/debug functions IINM ("useless developer features")
b) No user definable UV values
Sticking with Nymph thank you (for now at least), I NEED the debug functions so that Smart App Locker would actually work. I also need logcat for sending logs to app devs when they want me to (yeah I know you can "enable" it if you want).
But all the extra RAM does seem nice, plus Taksin one ups Hardcore in my book by adjusting values that make AOS appear again in battery stats. So I MIGHT just test speedfrey one day.
Creating a kernel that HIDES AOS percentage values AND THEN claiming that the AOS bug is solved IS NOT good practice IMHO (ehm, Hardcore). It's just plain dishonesty.
I never came across any claims from Hardcore about Android OS bug elimination but he did mentioned by switching off CPU Frequency Stats will subsequently remove Android OS stats from battery monitoring page. Latest version has the AOS in the battery stats because he switched on again the frequency stats. Actually, Hardcore made it first before Teksin, a day before Speedfrey 3.0.
He is more on slow and steady approach rather than pushing everything out of the door. Knowing his works on SGS, he always make sure his kernel will work no matter what. The debugging off method has been there since SGS but during SGS it can be switched on and off thru CWM. Hopefully he can implemented it but currently not in his is top most priority. His calmness made him survived the GPL war in XDA.... between him and Chainfire + Supercurio. One of the reasons he never supported Git Hub thingy.
Another note is Speedmod so far I tested is one of the kernel that can do factory reset from within the OS (thru privacy settings page) without boot loop. Not many kernel dev pay enough attention to this matter especially in KH3 ROM.
Well, Ninpo gave me a bootloop on Batista KG6 coz it messed up with CSC selection (CSC defaulted to KOR) and I did not have that in my phone.
