QUOTE(TeliLeti @ Oct 19 2011, 07:38 PM) Same as always. Still very huffy. Thanks for asking. xD Handled the ant problem yet? mhmm, emptied a can of mosquito repellant on it (water based) and haven't let lil on that particular patch for 2 days so far. also, i was referring to huffy's tongue :P QUOTE(Yang5209 @ Oct 20 2011, 12:41 AM) harlo, can i ask whether albino expensive or not? or other type more expensive?? full white albino~ albino hogs are pretty common so their prices should be the same if not lower than other variants.

Psh, his tongue's still the same. I haven't had the time to bring him (or even make an appointment) to the vet because it's super far away & I'm super busy.

given the circumstances you're already doing the best you could by monitoring his condition, imo.

QUOTE(TeliLeti @ Oct 18 2011, 07:30 PM) No, it's normal. No need to worry unless the ball at the end of the quill is missing. Chubby's back looks like that as well. Not necessary, there's once my hedgie was infected by mites. Since there's still a ball at the tip i assumed that it's not a mite infection but just dry skin. (there's some weird patches on their skin.) As times goes by, the patches got worst and the vet said that it's a mite infection. If it's on his/her quilling stage then there's nothing much to worry about. I think different hedgehog has different number of quills, my albino female has less quills compare to the others but still healthy How's Huffy now? Huffy's doing great. I let him loose in the toilet today while I washed his toyogo box. He ran the whole perimeter, round and round he went like a toy car. xD Very active & eating well. Growth on tongue is still there.

Welcome Yang5209 =D and congratz on your new Hedgie!
Turns out my college has many hedgie parents (including lecturers) O: never knew this until i got my girl.
Nephthys love the new wheel! but yeah.. she poops and pee a lot on it that she needs more baths... and its amusing to find a big poop ball in the wheel this morning XD I think its a combination of around 5 to 6 big poop and it was a perfect round ball shape XD it must be rolling with Nephthys as she runs the wheel
and yay, many many beetles now, can't wait to see new baby mealworms <3

@ Yang5209: It's not realy necessary to feed them mealworms. You can choose to feed them crickets if they don't freak you out. Super mealworms are super creepy. They look icky. Mealworms are much more tolerable. @ ddr3: D'aww, Leo looks SUPER happy.

I was considering getting a gecko - but then I stumbled upon this thread and omg! Hedgehog #FTW ! Lol So now I'm very seriously considering getting a hedgehog, I have inquired with some breeders in the pet store section. Any tips for a new hedge owner? In terms of housing, care etc? - I have read the entire front page, just looking for added tips Thanks.
