yes..i admit..you are absolutely correct..

Most probably the reason for "asap" is for their own benefit so that they can get as many applicants within a certain time frame rather then accommodating the interviewee's schedule, thereby wasting time on their side.

It is a good move you try to find a job before graduate. Seems like no choice, you have to go to take the chance. Otherwise other people will take it.

Nowadays difficult to get a job so better start early. If no luck, then will be unemployed for years.

I think you should see the interview as something like if both of you fit each other or not. If you get the job before graduate, isn't that awesome? I think if you read through this forum, you will realize that it's not easy to even get an interview for fresh grad and now you have the opportunity to do that before you finish your study.

Find out more about the company and the position you are interviewing. Also, do prepare questions to ask the company as well maybe specifically to your role. Interview is not a one way street.

Finally, all the best to you :-)

Singapore will always be here, and such opportunities will always come around. Why you die die also wanna interrupt your revision to come to Singapore for an interview when you haven't even graduated. Concentrate on doing your best in your exams, take some time off after that to live a little and relax, then only you start your search.

Yeah, a freshie starting out is always tough trying to break into the industry.

But after a few years of exp, getting a job isnt very tough. I usually get 2-3 job offers every year.

Better try to get a job within this year since next year will see employers tightening their belts due to slower demand.

In fact even now, after 12 years working I wish that I can do that.. rest a bit in between job, no worries for the world as they passes by. I think a lot of graduating students under FAMA scholarship do that when in fact they should start the search early and get that job. When they graduate, there will suddenly be a whole group of graduates that floods the market. The opportunity presented to reinforcism is a good advantage for him to go ahead of others especially the market is slowing down.

What exactly do you mean by 'people like you'? What are you studying anyway?

there is no harm trying with indicating expecting graduated date in your CV.
after last week of final exam & final semester without any last confirmed CGPA results, i went through some job advertisements internet & newspapers. within 1 month from final exam week got response for an interview in steel heavy industry. was offered RM2.4k/month that time.did not accept as went to M&E consultant construction line.
until now switch to o&g present.

so in short, there is no harm trying but with applying appropriate vacancies. who knows there is an opportunity.

You need to be more specific with the type of roles and which sectors of banking you wish to know about.

QUOTE(Aloong @ Aug 19 2011, 02:54 PM)
If u noticed, dividend rates and interest rates in SG is lower than in Msia. I'm talking both borrowing and lending rate.
Further, from macro point of view Msia has higher risk (lower rating) than SG, so the fixed (or somewhat fixed) return rate in Msia should be higher than SG.
If CPF rate matches EPF rate, that would not make sense.
So (assuming ceteris paribus, which is a BIG assumption), it's better to put in EPF/FD in Msia than in SG.

Anyway, that being said, if i remembered correctly ur CPF for the first SGD60K is paid at 2.5% + 2% = 4.5% (I think i saw that on some fund manager advertisement inside the MRT train, i think its aberden asset mgmt)
