Most agents are like that mad.gif When I first rented a place here the bloody agent promise this and that but never heard from that scum once the contract is signed and the commission paid.

Anyway, if it gets really bad you could lodge a complaint to Small Claims Tribunal (http://app.subcourts.gov.sg/sct/index.aspx). In the meantime, try to continue to track down your agent. Is she registered with agencies like PropNex? If she is you could try and contact the agency itself.

hmm....i checked. I can complain against agent but no use. the landlord is the one trying to cause the problem so that I will move out earlier then she untung.
anyways, i am ready to report to police if she ever touch my stuff. she has no right to ask me move out before mid sept.

cobroke agent. my agent is from dennis-wee. name starting with J with a capital A in her name. Can easily see her in craigslist. She had given me wrong info and it was my fault to believe everything she provided. First time I engaged an agent and really bad experience. Somemore lost hundreds to her >:

anyways i just found an agent without agent fee....with reasonable rental in central. hope this time can stay longer but at least i have nothing to lose this time smile.gif

This benefits both the agent, especially the tenant but is disadvantages the landlord since he/she has to fork out a a month commision instead of the half month.

So the landlord cant be singaporean right?

how many time u want to fall for this ? agent words cannot be trusted
he just dun want u to feel like got big frog jumping on road,
dun thin the landlord will pay 1 month, most landlord quite season already here
he might let go off your comm only

also got reason i can think off, need money fast, sux unit, sux landlord

no free lunch and trust no one shakehead.gif

i think will u see move again soon

6 months lease. ok for me. and the unit is quite nice compared to the current one. no limit aircon/washing/cooking, can use fridge, big room, queen bed size, own big bathroom, the house is newly painted. i cant think of anything else i need. the family is friendly perhaps they were just being fake, but if i have to be paranoid, then i must live under bridge already.

i am sure she wont. previous tenant was asked to move earlier before he finished 1 month notice. his new room was not yet ready to move in at that time. poor lad....

ivanswk is right. This is the first time that I've heard a landlord willingly pay the full agent commission. Either you are VERY lucky and found an extremely generous landlord or there something fishy going on.

If I were you I would read the contract very, very carefully and check the agent's credentials.

single, aged 40+... shouting and scolding staff without valid reasons, ridiculous and unpleasant attitude...

haih, anyone's company got similar kind of bosses in top management?

All I can say is that:

1. There's always a reason for every kind of behaviour. That includes "shouting and scolding".

2. Anybody's who HIRED to be the CEO (ie. not open his own business to call himself President Director CEO), they were hired for a reason.

In the meantime while she gets her footing, try to avoid appearing to be too "sympathetic" or "cliquey" with those who were being shouted at and scolded. That will do you nothing but harm. Lay low, stay out of the way.
