hi guys, does anyone know where to report landlord if the landlord tries to breach contract in terms of notice period?
The notice period is 1 month till mid september and I have paid rental until then. How to complain the landlord who tries to get tenant out of the house with tons of accuse and lies? Agent is engaged but she took agent fee and gone with the wind already.

If it is a dispute (breach of contract), see a lawyer. You will need to take this to court. Not sure if arbitration or mediation or consumer claims tribunal etc are applicable though.

If it is a crime (cheating or fraud), then see the police. They will investigate and if there's a case, charge them in court.

if she tried to accuse me of doing something and want to throw my stuff out of the house, then brought visitor to view my room when I was not at home, is that crime or dispute?
Now I everyday take photo as proof. and I did remind her must grant my permission before bringing other tenant to see the room when I am not home and she agreed (She used to do it when i went to see the room, got record already tongue.gif), but I found out she did that again.

single old lady is it ?

lol yeah, everyone heard my story will guess she is single. Single in her late 30s living alone, but put on heavy make up. I got scared the first day i moved in, opened door and saw her panda makeup :S
she said for continuously two days I did not shut the door. But that is impossible as i am robot type of person, open door - wear shoes - shut door - check keys and phone - go

try to check out HDB website. last time i heard they set up a committee/task force or something like that to handle hdb rental cases.
ok, just re-check nothing on the website.
worst case call the police.
are they renting it illegally? if yes, blow the wistle and let HDB now and fine them
if can share ur address, so all of us dun rent from the same owner.
*
hmm....i checked. I can complain against agent but no use. the landlord is the one trying to cause the problem so that I will move out earlier then she untung.
anyways, i am ready to report to police if she ever touch my stuff. she has no right to ask me move out before mid sept.

Most agents are like that  mad.gif  When I first rented a place here the bloody agent promise this and that but never heard from that scum once the contract is signed and the commission paid.

Anyway, if it gets really bad you could lodge a complaint to Small Claims Tribunal (http://app.subcourts.gov.sg/sct/index.aspx). In the meantime, try to continue to track down your agent. Is she registered with agencies like PropNex? If she is you could try and contact the agency itself.

cobroke agent. my agent is from dennis-wee. name starting with J with a capital A in her name. Can easily see her in craigslist. She had given me wrong info and it was my fault to believe everything she provided. First time I engaged an agent and really bad experience. Somemore lost hundreds to her >:
the house is at marine terrace but i guess no one here will go there tongue.gif

anyways i just found an agent without agent fee....with reasonable rental in central. hope this time can stay longer but at least i have nothing to lose this time smile.gif

So this agent does pro bono work?

i think 1 month commission from landlord. he said he only gets agent fee from landlord side not tenant.

This benefits both the agent, especially the tenant but is disadvantages the landlord since he/she has to fork out a a month commision instead of the half month.

So the landlord cant be singaporean right?
*
singaporean. There might be some reasons they r willing to pay that much i have yet to find out but whatever it is, as long as i can breath in that house, i untung biggrin.gif
but i bet this agent can hardly get business opportunity from landlord.

6 months lease. ok for me. and the unit is quite nice compared to the current one. no limit aircon/washing/cooking, can use fridge, big room, queen bed size, own big bathroom, the house is newly painted. i cant think of anything else i need. the family is friendly perhaps they were just being fake, but if i have to be paranoid, then i must live under bridge already.

that's so true
or another way is shift earlier and get money back return since you already paid till end of the month hor.
*
i am sure she wont. previous tenant was asked to move earlier before he finished 1 month notice. his new room was not yet ready to move in at that time. poor lad....

ivanswk is right. This is the first time that I've heard a landlord willingly pay the full agent commission. Either you are VERY lucky and found an extremely generous landlord or there something fishy going on.

If I were you I would read the contract very, very carefully and check the agent's credentials.
*
yea. at first i felt the same then just went and see first. the agent got asked the landlord to show their doc proves that they own the unit which my previous agent did not.
the family looks really friendly(but my landlord also acted nice when i view the room). will explore once i move in next month.

hi guys, I am thinking to get an ipad 2 from my current telco either m1 or starhub under their plan. Has any work permit holder here ever get their plan without deposit? I have 2 years contract with both of them and it is only 1 year +. As an existing customer, can I request to waive the deposit?

you probably should tell us your qualifications 1st. yeahs4.1 is definitely above SGD$3.5k per month when he was 25.
I only have degree from malaysia university and doing construction. so far i never heard anyone from construction is getting 3.5k at 25.
I am surprised when I heard my friend talked about his 25 yo female friend is being paid 3.6k while holding poly diploma in nutrition doing non-relevant job like sitting in office drinking tea and she is PRC.
what kind of world is this? she got 100% increment from jumping ship. what happened to the world ima feeling so imba now.
