And by the way, withdrawing cash from bank tellers are imposed the same interest rate as withdrawing from cash machines and not sure if there are additional fees.

Fees are the same as if you are withdrawing from the ATM. Shouldn't be any additional fees.

this is really worth to try out, save lots on interest. But does he need to be in chinatown?
Read below link where I touched on cash withdrawal briefly and go to MBB site to read more on the T&C

I'm actually IN China itself. I tried paying for something with my CC earlier, but the CC terminal machine thing was prompting for a PIN number!

Can the CC terminal ignore the PIN part ? It is possible in Australia.

Shouldn't be a problem. In China, the cashier should have asked you if your CC requires PIN authentication.

I just checked out AMBank promos, the 20% cash back looks good but after reading the T&C, looks like one most probably will only benefit if they swipe on the first Saturday of the month and maybe lucky get something on the first Sunday of the month. AMBank only allocated RM200,000 per month for the promotion. Unlike AMEX cash back promo where it is only applicable at malls in Klang Valley, AMBank promo is applicable to entire country at all hypermarkets and as such I believe the amount would be reached on the 1st week of the month.

The other good promo is AM FlexiPay where can convert purchase to 6 months 0% installment.

And sure, I can think of something to write about the AMBank Promo.

OK, I reread your post.

1. You be imposed late charges of 1% (Min RM5 and max RM50) if you fail to pay minimum payment by Due Date.

2. On interest charges, read my article titled Credit Cards Are Cash Cow for Banks. Are You working for the Banks? by clicking here.

http://creditcardsmalaysia.blogspot.com/20...-cash-back.html

did a table too comparing cash back between OCBC TMC, Citi Plat CB, MBB 2 Amex and UOB 1 CArd

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Also did a comparison to determine the cash back from the four cards above, and as you all know, MBB 2 the best lah.

I performed an online payment before and was entitled for the 5% cash back.
As bro Gen-X mentioned, there's a risk you won't get it because of the merchant's posting date. This does not mean the bank doesn't give it to you coz the problem is the merchant's posting date .

i think posting date is inaccurate. It is not related to the posting date but rather the merchant's processing date that directly affects the actual transaction date.

example 1: a lot of online merchants only process orders taken on weekends on Monday, so your transaction date is Monday and not the weekend (and miss out on 5%)

example 2: a transaction made between 12am - 1am Saturday came up to be a transaction dated Friday (as the merchant only processed the previous days orders at Saturday AM)

Thanks for pointing it out.
Normally merchant post their transaction to the bank at the end of their business day. And this sometimes can be the next day or after midnight.
I know this merchant who did his posting with every swipe and if this can be done via the terminal (he did it in front of me), I don't see it is impossible for online system to behave the same way.

If you are in a different time zone then what counts is where Malaysia is as the transactions are captured back here in Malaysia.
Can be confusing rclxub.gif
