go to control panel -> power option -> left pane "choose what the power buttons do" --> "when i press the sleep button" -> check ur settings...

Hello guys....

I think there's something wrong with my battery. Full charge can hardly last more than 3 hours. Bear in mind it's just some normal web browsing work.

Now it's 84% and shows 2 hour 20 minute remaining.

any ideas what should I do? should i try recovering/reseting to factory defaults? if still bad like this, should i send back to acer?

I called acer tech support and request for on-site service for my faulty speaker but yesterday they din come.
So piss off now, anyway, exceept for onsite service, where still got the service to change the parts on the spot?

both of u got the same problem as i do. n i sent my lappy to acer last saturday, n just now, called them , n they say left speaker spare part just arrived. i can expect my laptop to be ready next week.

didnt know acer got acer onsite service.

owh, for the battery thing, mine too, only lasts under 3hours, n they simply upgraded the Smart Battery System's firmware. sad...was hoping for a new battery

definitely, most likely, they simply upgrade ur battery's firmware. best case scenario, they exchange it for a new one. im not so lucky to get a new placement. urs is still under warranty rite? the 1st year. battery warranty coverage applies only for the 1st year.

they got onsite service, but until now, technician is in MIA mode. I dont mind paying them the travel fee aka RM35 to my house
mine battery also the same, sometimes last till 8hr, sometimes till 4hr only, in powersave mode, w/o wifi and only suft net +msn

i got tons of assignment to finish, cant bear to wait for 1 week. thats why i need on the spot, acer after sales service is crap ==
dell is better, and punctual for the technician

Hi guys, i've been using 4830TG for passed few months, now only i found out this thread.

Does anyone here using HWMonitor? I couldn't get my temperature reading for GPU, anyone having this problem?

The temperature can be read by SpeedFan but not HWMonitor.

Edit: No problem, i've found out why is it not showing, anyway thx..

its been 15th times my laptop is in defect. I now demand a new model exchange for my 4830TG and they assume that it's my laptop's software problem. I've told them I've tried formatted it and everything I could done, updating graphic drivers, and things that I can do.

They've changed my motherboard for twice, but still ended like this. You guys know what, I called Highpoint USJ for my laptop, and they forwarded my call to MR. Saha ( that's what I heard from them). And then, their superior promised me will check out on this matter, but it's been one week I still get no news from them.

urs battery 1 year oledi? how long do they take to replace the battery?

yup. it was 1 year on Apri 24th. sent in for repair before dat, but they only upgraded da battery's firmware [3months warranty extension], a month later, battery at 60++% wear level, sent in again for the 2nd time, they immediately change the battery to a new one. i took them 1-2 weeks.
