I have use my Acer Aspire 4830TG for 1 years, and this week, I got a warning at the battery icon, it say "There is a problem with your battery, so your computer might shut down suddenly". I don't get it rclxub.gif, when my laptop fully charge, I discharge my laptop and when the battery low, I charge back my laptop. What should I do, and if there no other solution, what are the price for 4830tg battery replacement? I think my laptop battery have reach it life cycle? hmm.gif

And for your information it happen 3 days ago when I play DIRT SHOWDOWN game , at that time I did not charge my laptop battery and the battery indicator display 80% power left and also I disable my power save button to use NVIDIA Graphic instead of Intel Graphic, after about 3 minute I play the game my laptop suddenly turn off. After that I try power on my laptop but my laptop won't turn on and the power LED blink and that time I consider that my laptop battery are at low level, so I charge the laptop and turn on the laptop and THEN I get that problem. Please help with my problem and what are the solution?icon_question.gif

Been using my 4830TG for a year as well,n i just encounter the "Plugged in,not charging" error.Tried a different AC adapter but the error is still there so i'm assuming the battery to be the culprit. The laptop is all working fine and dandy as long as the adapter is plugged in but the bloody thing is not charging at all lol.Anyone knows what wrong?

Try installing the software BatteryBar (Google it) then see what the battery wear percentage is. I've only got the same laptop for about half a year old and it's already at about 9.5%.

Has anyone with this laptop tried replacing the built-in battery due to worn batteries using their warranty for free yet? Or if not using warranty, how much does it take to replace it?

Wow, one year and the battery is already having such issues? If it's within one year, isn't your warranty still valid?

& how long did they say they will take to repair it? 10-14 working days as usual?

I'm asking all this to prepare myself for all the hassles when my laptop comes to your stage later on. Sigh.

I know a few people who owns the same laptop and theirs are still going strong,so mine should probably be classified as an isolated case.Did some research regarding my problem and it turns out that it's quite a widespread problem for other laptop brands as well not just this one.Hell i couldn't find anyone that encountered the same problem as mine with this laptop on the net.Anyways, mine will take roughly around 2 weeks to get it fixed, well that's what they said anyway.Had my laptop broke down a week earlier,my warranty would have still been valid lol.Talk about bad luck.

Hi guys,
Going to upgrade my 4830TG after one year, thinking to get 8GB ram kit and SSD for it.
Getting corsair ram and any advise for SSD? Oh yeah, does our 4830TG support sata 3? Aiming for 120GB SSD, which brand to recommend and how is the speed?

I'm getting the same battery problem as well after 1.5 years. Wear level at 64%.

My old Dell never gives me any problem (apart from the optical drive) for 5 years.

That's the problem with having built-in batteries.. Can't remove it while the battery is fully charged and we're on AC.
My laptop is almost at 9 months old but I've managed to maintain the battery wear level to <10% by recalibrating it about every month.

You guys should try it too on your new battery. Save yourselves some trouble.

Guys, I am one of the owner of this model. Currently im running on window 8 64bit. So, what is the essential driver of core software to install? And of course is the NVIDIA GPU DRIVER. There is one problem. When I install dolby software, im seems to crash with the stock sound system. Any audio software or driver for this model?
