hi guys im new here. i owned a Acer TimelineX 4830TG 3months ago, for the first month i was able to play any games smoothly.

Then starting from september everything starts going to lag, i performed around 10 times of recovery but still catches same performance. Whilst the worst thing is when i gaming, it stutters after a few mins, some even 30secs.

(1st service) So, i sent it to Highpoint for the very first time, they THINK that the motherboard is in fault so they replaced it and they had a QC for everything and conclude that everything was fine. So after 3 days I went back to collect my lappy and hoping it was fine, they told me my software such as Avira, Uniblu softwares, spyware doctor affects my system so, (since they gave me a suggestion so i'd better try it!)
And i recovery it and try for gaming again.

(2nd service) Nevertheless, after recovering the Windows the problem still persists. Which irritates me a hell lot. After so, I research through google for solution. (can't always rely to service centre right?) And I found a solution that will pick up the framerate after playing games for long time by DISABLING "Nvidia Display Helper Service" through msconfig. To do so, I am unable to control any programs that needs to be accelerate with NVIDIA GPU. But since I set the default accelerate engine to "High Performance NVIDIA GPU" so it runs all well.
After a few weeks of usage, problem began worse. Gaming began lag again after a minute of playing, and resulting BSOD that it says, "nvlddmkm.sys" blablablabla, which means whenever i open anything that accelerates graphic or even INTEL HD GRAPHIC will result in BSOD........................ Then again, I brought it to highpoint penang. They brought it to KL TSG to check for further diagnostics and solutions.

(3rd service) So they checked it out at KL, and after a week of waiting, they sent it back...... The answer they checked for the problem of BSOD was, "NO WE DID NOT ENCOUNTER ANY PROBLEM". I was like LOL DAFAQ IS THIS ?! I had a test on my lappy and no BSOD was found back then. I was so tired to go back for the service coz IT STILL STUTTERS WHENEVER I GAMING!!!! At last, I emailed Highpoint and called for customer service and complained for the service, they assumed that none of the engineers did wrong, and asked me to go for service once again. And i was like terrified? After then, I requested for a pick-up service through my location and they did get it from me last week, and yesterday they had a call for me and they had to REINSTALL the windows for me coz the 4830TG i bought was the first batch one. And so they did a backup for my datas coz of the services that they had done lolx.

Hello Highpoint,

I appreciate your reply and your attention, but I just received back my unit yesterday and the problem still persists. Nevertheless, I requested for a unit exchange today instead of getting it repair for the fourth time. It will be meaningless and waste of time if I do so. Hopefully the next unit will be better than this one, this one is just not my luck sad.gif

They asked for a full set of laptop that include the box and the origin adapter, guess I am taking it to Highpoint by Friday or next Monday. Furthermore, I requested a newer model of 4830TG just that because of Highpoint's HQ inform me that there are no more stock of the model "4830TG-2414G75Mnbb". That's the matter, and that's why i requested for a newer model drool.gif drool.gif

Dear Highpoint,

I demand a new model of 4830TG but sadly there aren't any reply from Highpoint. As I know 4830TG had launched a new model of processor using i5-2450M, but at the time when I got to ask Highpoint, they replied me with "currently we don't have that model", but I dont really know what specific model is that. When I tried to ask they don't wan't to explain it. Can you help me out with this??

Shat Brix?

Dudes and peeps, just to let you all know that my 4830TG has been a problematic to me. AND YET ACER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPAIR FOR ME!

After numerous of service, my 4830TG still gets really hot (it can get up to 90 Celcius degrees) after 1 month of game playing. But after changing the motherboard it gets totally fine. And that's why I get to repair after each month or so.

And I am not satisfy with the screen, it's a little bit yellowish than my previous 4830TG... Oh forget to tell you guys, I've earned an exchange unit for my previous model of 4830TG, (i5-2410M TO i5-2450M). But the problems seemed to be remain the same as usual.....

I offered Acer/Highpoint to change my screen for me as my screen is yellowish than before, but they dont seem to be care for my case and returned my unit back after one week of inspection.

WHAT THE f*** IS THAT? lol. I WAITED FOR SO LONG AND I DONT GET A SINGLE f*** OF THEM, WHAT KIND OF SORCERY IS THIS?!

its been 15th times my laptop is in defect. I now demand a new model exchange for my 4830TG and they assume that it's my laptop's software problem. I've told them I've tried formatted it and everything I could done, updating graphic drivers, and things that I can do.

They've changed my motherboard for twice, but still ended like this. You guys know what, I called Highpoint USJ for my laptop, and they forwarded my call to MR. Saha ( that's what I heard from them). And then, their superior promised me will check out on this matter, but it's been one week I still get no news from them.

[SIZE=14]DONT EVER BUY ACER, I CAN TELL YOU THAT ITS THE WORST BRAND I'VE EVER HAD TO TRY.

Guys. I would definitely not buying Acer anymore.

Guess what, whenever I played graphic games such as skyrim and alot more the fps will drop to the least within 5~60 secs.

This issue has been following me ever since I bought this unit, and now I'm requesting for 2ndary replacement of my 4830.

Highpoint does GREAT service as I know. They took a second hand V3-471 which has 500GB HDD with 2GB RAM, which also is an old unit, claimed NEW by them for me.

Now now. Without my acknowledgement they drag my rights to accept this unit?! I was like omg this is nightmare. What I was offer was 4830 to 4830 unit changing and what I get was SH|T
