Anyone knows if i can make a balance transfer to the same card twice ? HSBC is currently offering a 0% BT with no upfront fee. I am thinking to do a BT from my Citibank VISA. I have two Citibank credit cards. Both come with different statement date.
*
For CIMB/DA, it can be done. I had done a BT of RM80,000 (partial downpayment for a new house via SCB cc) to DA in October. I have just submitted another BT application for an amount of approximately RM10,000 from OCBC to DA. I have money reserved in FD form but since I can get 0% interest for 6 months, there is no harm to let my money grows further and delay the payment.

CIMB replied, there is no cheque. They mentioned they had transfer the money to other bank. They create a new virtual CC account for balance transfer. Can view from online too. Kind of cool.

Had to check with the other bank whether they receive the money or not.
*
The money will usually be transferred via IBG. For my case, it took about a week for the whole process, i.e, from submission of BT application to DA to official receipt of BT fund for SCB.

I think that shouldn't be a problem as long as you have sufficient credit limit.

One good thing about the BT programme from CIMB/DA is that they allow you to fully utilise the available CL of your CIMB/DA cc for the BT amount. For instance, if your CIMB's available CL is RM100,000, you can then do BT from other banks (could be more than a bank) for a cumulative amount of no more than RM100,000 to CIMB. Meanwhile, most other banks do not allow BT amount of 100% your available CL, e.g, OCBC 60% and Amex 70%.

Yup, CIMB/DA BT programme is the best BT programme I've encountered so far. I've made a total of 6 BT applications since the offer was open
and all my applications were approved. By the way, does anybody know if it is possible to make BT from any banks' Mastercard / Visa to Maybank's American Express card?

I have made 5 BT to DA BT. One lesser than you. Ha! Ha!

I did ask the same question about BT from AMEX to BT or vice versa. Nobody answers.

Not only that, I cannot even recall anyone mentioning doing BT to MBB. I would like to know more about MBB 12 months 0% installements too. i.e. are the repayments in 12 equal installaments or like CIMB/DA just pay minimum 5% and the approval time frame.

Seems like MBB is not so famous even though their deal is attractive. Too bad that MBB is primary CC and I seldom use my DA. If can, I could do a little experiment on MBB BT. biggrin.gif

lol i did mention previous page that i did managed to do MBB BT, maybank amex to be exact. amex also applicable for the 12 months 0%.

they will divide ur BT into equal 12 months payment. if u dont pay full, will carry forward as ur outstanding. PBB BT also works the same.

and no separate account will be created as well.

yes you will get separate BT account for each application/approval (each application can do several BT from different banks).

my chronology below:
- 1st day submit application
- 4th day call them, say approved already
- ~10th day maybank2u already updated the transaction
- ~14th day the other bank receive maybank's payment

so i guess maybank are very efficient. thumbup.gif

thanks for the info, from above I assume you only called on the 10th day to check if payment made. Payment could have been made earlier right. Did you call the other bank on the 10th day to check or only only call on the 14th day?

If payment took 14 days to reach the other bank, it is kind of tight as usually I get my statments a week after the Statement date by mail and that leaves me less than 2 weeks before the Due Date, unless they do not need the latest statement. Direct Access usually make payment within a week so no need to worry about payment being made after due date.

DA turn around time is pretty fast and amazing.

I don't rely on the printed statement for BT application. Since I transferred from MBB to DA, I use e-statement from M2U.

As long as you have sufficient, you can perform multiple BT. Doesn't matter from the same bank or not.

However, BT transfer is subjected to approval but chances of getting through is high unless your CC record is bad.

Did Maybank create another account for the 12 month 0% BT or we cannot use the card anymore after we BT?

not sure until that detail n i didnt call the other bank. it is stated on the monthly statement. so i believed, it is shorter because need time to clear the cheque also.

no new account, n the instalment will be part of ur outstanding.

for example if ur outstanding for the month is 1k.

n assume u BT RM2400 for 12 months,

1st month BT: 1000 + 200

so ur total outstanding becomes 1200. it becomes part of ur acc already.
