Ohh, that means you're too late already ~~ lol ~~
Just ignore it or if you cannot tahan then open Samsung Apps and let it update and show all its marvellous apps to you. No need to download anything. Just wait till it finish showing all then closed back and no more red signal :-)

Does that mean I can't stop the default mail from downloading all my emails?
I can't set the capacity as well? Gosh my phone is going to be bombarded with alot of emails.....!
*
yes you can..dont sync your google mail..deselect sync function. Meaning that if you want to check email, manual sync..you can set capacity...but after using K9 email per Benny, i never go back to default email anymore..

ppl keep asking same question but never try on their own. always ask2 want to keep spoonfed.
go read xda dev forum or google first before ask la.

~~sigh~~

Sometimes new user are scared to try new things especially when they came from different OS like Symbian and IOS. Somemore the cost of SGSII is expensive.
That's why they will ask many question until they satisfied and sure which way or what is the right thing to do.
Just saying :-)

Yeah but they should read the first page IMO. I mean a lot of questions can be answered if they read the first page.

example is the how can i get chinese letters to work. I've seen that a lot of times. heck if this thread had post counts, ill be in the 500+ already.haha.

I bet a lot more people are willing to help if people researched first then ask questions if they don't know anything.

Ouh well, /rant over.

On another note,my battery seems a bit too long in my case with medium usage. I cant seem to get into a regular charge cycle that im comfortable with. But thats a good thing i guess.

partly why we go so fast into a new version is coz the first 2-3 pages is dedicated to people reporting in... and congratulating.

am in cross road between IP4 and this...been reading and reading as many posts but am afraid some of it too technical- ROMs, roots, etc, etc...
I must say this thread is making it easier to understand as much as possible

I know the general consensus is IP4 is better if you want life to be simple-out of box use and Android is superb for people who like tweak, etc.. but its astounding to see the number of S2 users....must be a superb phone and friendly OS...

wish me luck in choosing the right model (and trying to understand as much on all the technical stuffs here..) biggrin.gif

Mine coming next week. I guess this is better over the HTC sensation in performance. The HTC sense 3.0 do looks cooler.

Does this mean SGS II battery cant last a day?

I'm in the same boat as you are... and rightly so because this is a huge investment. RM2K++ is a big amount no matter who you are.

So, the most important is foreseeing how your investment can get better in the future. How you could make it better after a few years of getting it?

I've had a lot of chances to fiddle with the iphone4 because many of my friends have them. I would say it's a reallllly good phone for what it can do = an app machine. It's really all about the apps. the phone itself only has the most basic functions and there is nothing in it that you can do to boost it or change it... as time goes by, it gets better i.e. you can get MORE APPS and that just goes on and on.. more apps more apps and that's how it gets better.

What I've noticed with android based phones is it can get better in other ways. besides the app store, it can also get better by doing many personal modifications as you would risk. Of course reflashing is always the end thing that you can do once things go wrong but the most important is, you can make the phone better NOT just by adding more apps to it. The one catch that used to separate this obvious plus from iOS is that iOS is tonnes more fluid than any android based phone at that time.... However, the SGSII has proven that it has bridged that part of the separation. It is JUST as fluid as iOS... i dare claim. I feel that that is the most compelling reason why I would also choose to switch to it soon.

honestly, i think this thread is just too technical.

i consider myself to be somewhat IT person... even i find this thread to be 'scary'. for me, i use the phone as it is and i'm not into tweaking, etc... so this thread, while informative... is not really useful.

so, i'm not surprised if people who are at crossroad get turned off and come off with the impression that android is for techies... it is not.

between those two... i'd say sgs2 is still the better value for money. out of the box, you can use it as it is... no worries. personally, its value for money for many reasons... but best of all... you get the android freedom. you can do what you want with your phone... and not do anything to it. up to you. no silly company dictating why you can't use bluetooth to transfer files, etc...

and if you have been using Google services, android is the next step.

BTW, when you say fluid you mean the touch screen swiping functions?

Good day guys. Got my S 2 over the weekend and was going through the features for I'm new to Android. One feature which caught my interest was the "Voice Talk". When I tried it, it gave me errors as follows: "Please check your network and try again". The same results when I use "Voice Command". I'm on stock ROM and Celcom network. Appreciate the help.

Sense do looks more 'useful' and complicated for new users.
But after you use it for awhile and know more twicks, its just nothing much actually.

But its always good to start with Sense, when the user is new biggrin.gif

I took my friend's sensation and played with it a while, find it hard to use lol, though it looks like a lot of functions but i find it easier to do it on my phone tim..

like i want to add widget, on sgs ii just tap menu > add > widgets

on sensation, i try to add widgets, dunno how to add.. then i ask my friend, also took him a while to remember how, lol

okay what i found from villianROM forum of explaining a full wipe isIn recovery mode:

Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe sd:ext
Wipe battery stats
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Wipe usage statistics

Partition SD card

do we really need to do all that to flash a ROM?
