i am planning to get a SGS II or HTC Sensation.

How does the battery of SGS II survive for a daily use vs sensation?
*
Get SGS II, my friend got Sensation the same time I did. Now he is regretting, he say my phone has better display (well it's super AMOLED), I can root and flash all i want (Sensation one seems troublesome or maybe he didn't research I don't know).. put side by side, my SGS II looks more cool! Some more SGS II got 16gb internal storage.

It is not even a fight, consider the price.

Get SGS II, this comes from me who observe two phones and monitor side by side for more than 1 month.

Btw i just tried LBE privacy guard. I think it should be listed in page 1... too useful! It allows u to block suspicious permissions..

for example an offline game that access the internet, well maybe it needs to submit your score online but you can just block it anyway smile.gif

or some alarm clock app that can access your contact number.. lol

suddenly i feel powerful

Sense do looks more 'useful' and complicated for new users.
But after you use it for awhile and know more twicks, its just nothing much actually.

But its always good to start with Sense, when the user is new biggrin.gif

+1

I took my friend's sensation and played with it a while, find it hard to use lol, though it looks like a lot of functions but i find it easier to do it on my phone tim..

like i want to add widget, on sgs ii just tap menu > add > widgets

on sensation, i try to add widgets, dunno how to add.. then i ask my friend, also took him a while to remember how, lol

Yes i know, nokia never had problem with network signal.
You're staying at Keramat KL or Keramat Penang?
If in KL then might as well you try Umobile. It's cheap and had good coverage for KL area. Cost RM28 for one month with 500mb data + 100 min all network calls + 30 sms, all included and no hidden charges.
*
but you need to use it on top of an existing prepaid plan right? or just rm28 cover all? do i need to get a rm30 prepaid plan first then add rm28 on top of it? thanks.

IP4 is already outdated for me unless you're waiting for IP5.
Anyway SGS2 can be GOOD enough for normal user without rooting, flashing & tweaking.
Even if u decide to not root also, u still able to do a lot of customization. Believe me..

Faster, Lighter & Slimmer!

In another story, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 sales blocked in Europe..Cilakoi Epal!

Jumping from Iphone to Android is the best choice I've ever made. Only regret I have is didn't do so earlier. That Iphone has too many restrictions till I want to smash it with a hammer.

not really... i dun think its due to brute force (aka processor). the same friends tested the home screen and scrolling on a few other android devices including Asus Transformer tablet (running on dual core Tegra). they found it was not so smooth on the TF and other devices.

dun have to regret... i think android only started to really be competitive this year... so, now is the time to hop onto the android bandwagon... smile.gif

is it any wonder android handset makers are being sued by apple? smile.gif

Widget Locker is very nice, but is there a way to let it run in background without showing up in built in task manager widget as 'active apps'?

Now i cannot use 'exit all apps' (though i know i shouldn't because android doesn't need us to manually kill task, but anyway..) because of widget locker..

Hey guys, if u use your sgs2 in the dark (total darksness like inside ur room) you will find that even with the lowest brightness the screen is still a little bit too bright. I found a free app in market yesterday that can further reduce the brightness (even to 0 brightness but careful later u cannot see anything on screen lol)...

what i like about the app is u dun even need to configure, by default it adds a 50% 'shade' like you are wearing sunglasses.. after that u can still use the normal brightness adjustment way to reduce or increase brightness like normal (dun need to use the app)!

get it from market it's free..

I've been using hexor screen filter in Darkys rom since SGS days but i discontinued using it now. I just wonder if just cover up the brightness only but still using the same amount of battery juice. If that the case then better lower our brightness manually since it will save our battery juice at the same time. :-)
*
according to the reviews it does save battery juice. Also the point of the app is it further reduces the brightness.. because even u put minimum brightness it is still too bright. after using this app u still have to adjust ur brightness manually... smile.gif

thanks iori57..i might try the apps myself since i also notice that our screen still too bright when in dark room with lowest brightness..

im using digi data plan ~ i must only tick "use packet data" ??? because sometimes 3g symbol appears at my s2 ~ my fren said 3g and data plan is different ~
*
nonsense... 2g 3g 4g all included in your data plan... same same

use 3g when there's coverage.. sometimes at certain area cannot use 3g, then if u leave 3g on it keep on searching and drain a lot of battery

if speed is not required, 2g is enough for normal whatsapping smile.gif if that case just turn off 3g

My question keep getting lost in the sea (and no one pick up)... sorry repost:

1) On phone, go to Android market -> select any app -> tap 'more comments' to go to comments page... question is when scrolling up and down on this page, mine sometimes very hard to scroll (need to swipe multiple times for the page to scroll).. does anyone has this problem as well or is it normal?

2) Is there anyway to hide 'Widget Locker' from showing up in the default task manager as 'active applications'? dun want to accidentally close it when i press 'exit all programs'...

Thanks =)

Anyone has any luck installing Advanced Power Menu on Villain 2.4.2?

I mean the additional 'Reboot, reboot to download mode and reboot to recovery mode' options when you hold the power button.

Thanks!
