The Desire S has a 5mp camera instead of an 8 one.
mobile 88's price aren't accurate. An AP Desire S these days is only around 1.1k

Oh ok.. i'll surf around this forum to look for the latest price list. I think i know what phone I will be buying rclxms.gif Thanks all for the help thumbup.gif

How about Mi410 vs X5 ? cos now only i notice Mi410 is actually X6 and its in the same price...

should Mi410 be better ?
*
If brand/build quality/firmware is not an issue to you, then its better.

The build quality is definitely inferior to that of the X6 and the stock firmware is known to be buggy and unstable.

Haha ok. I just recommended the desire s to you because you mentioned a tight budget and you'd prefer something cheaper. The IS is a great choice smile.gif

Speed wise, Sensation/S2 is roughly on bar. Battery life wise, it depends on your usage and eagerness to flash kernals/roms.

If you are, then the S2 would be better.

If not, the Sensation/S2 is the same.
Even though the S2's stock firmware is not as good as the Sensation's.
The S2 has an edge if you use a black wallpaper due to the S-AMOLED+ technology.

And the sensation also has a few flaws with the screen(sharpness/sensitivity).

Overall the S2 is a better choice.

O2x is not recommended due to many flaws.
Defy is definitely not recommended due to the inferior GPU when compared with other phones if used for gaming.
*
I wont be flashing any roms anytime soon since the last time i did that i couldnt claim warranty on my previous phone which is why im planning to get a replacement.

I think im gonna get the sensation since its cheaper and the screen quality is quite decent.

Nexus S vs Desire HD, which is better? 2nd hand both around same price. Usage: web browsing, streaming audio, watching video, reading ebooks, GPS, Viber, must root (flashing ROM, maybe not), taking pics & videos... you know, the usual stuff.

Kinda scared of Samsung becos of the problematic phones (GPS problems in S/SL/S Plus, SOD in Ace, etc). I'm curious, why is Nexus S not popular (at least in LYN)?

QUOTE(DewDropDazzle @ Sep 15 2011, 08:58 PM)
Hi, I wanna buy a new phone but stuck between Samsung Galaxy S Plus and HTC Incredible S (or any other good phones around). Both the phone prices varies between RM100-200. My budget is abit tight let say RM1400-1500 (the lesser the better).

What i need in a phone is that it must have friendly UI, app friendly, touch screen sensitive. I seldom take pictures (even if i took i only took pictures of food lol). A front cam is a must coz i uses video call.

And i'm in a fix. Dont know which phone suits me. Much help would be appreciated ! Thank you !

P/S: Currently using Nokia C6-01. Its my first time using a Nokia and i had a bad experience. Not even 2 weeks after i bought it the loudspeaker went kaboom and i need to send it for repair n waited 3 weeks. So was hoping that i could get a better phone than that. No offence intended to Nokia fans >"<

I would have to second salimbest83 and recommend the IS as well. Between the 2 models:

S Plus
+ Super AMOLED screen
+ accessories (same dimension as S)
- GPS problems
- plasticky compared to IS
- not much community support

IS
+ superb all rounder
+ good build quality
+ 8mp camera

http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPho...0&idPhone2=3468 both got pros and cons

Nexus S is also made by Samsung. Perhaps, take Desire HD?
my guess Nexus S not that popular is maybe due to design? hmm.gif

no gps issue on my nexus , lock fast .
nexus lack of storage expand , it is not popular in lyn because it come out late , and ppl already got their SGS , no point getting this while they can simply flash gingerbread firmware on it .

DHD is great too , with 4.3 big display .

sense vs vanilla gingerbread , you pick . i dont fancy sense , prefer minimalist , this is quite subjective . some ppl like sense , some dont .

bear in mind poor battery life on dhd but u can always get high perfomance battery. however battery life on nexus is great thanks to it 1500mah battery.
Dont forget ICS is coming to town ,i believe nexus will get it update ( the main goal i get this phone too , fast os update)
that all i can say . biggrin.gif

I highly doubt you can get an iPhone 5 under 1k even if you get it under contract.Anyway,i suggest you have a look at the CSL MI410 ,it's only RM799 yet the specs are the same as the Samsung Galaxy SL.Stock CSL firmware is quite buggy but once you flash it to other firmwares it'll be really fast and smooth.

S=Hummingbird SOC,SGX540 GPU,WM8994 DAC so it has the best sound quality and the highest GPU power among single core phones.Has great developer support.

SL=Qualcomm MSM8255 SOC,Adreno 205 GPU,SCLCD display,so-so developer support.Nothing outstanding about this phone

S Plus=Same as SL but the CPU is overclocked to 1.4GHz but still, nothing outstanding about the phone.

I recommend the Nexus S,it's a Nexus device which means stock android that's fast and fluid plus fast updates from Google. You don't have to install a custom ROM or anything,it's already blazing fast out of the box.

Added on September 18, 2011, 1:52 pmOne more thing, the build quality of the MI410 is awesome,i'd say it's even better than the Incredible S [Used both for quite a while].

In day to day use the difference in clock speed of the S and S Plus shouldn't be really noticeable but overall the S is the best among those three. That said i am not sure whether the GPS on the S is still problematic or not on the current firmware.

Still,if i were you i'd get the Nexus S. icon_idea.gif
