Hi, I wanna buy a new phone but stuck between Samsung Galaxy S Plus and HTC Incredible S (or any other good phones around). Both the phone prices varies between RM100-200. My budget is abit tight let say RM1400-1500 (the lesser the better).

What i need in a phone is that it must have friendly UI, app friendly, touch screen sensitive. I seldom take pictures (even if i took i only took pictures of food lol). A front cam is a must coz i uses video call.

And i'm in a fix. Dont know which phone suits me. Much help would be appreciated ! Thank you !

P/S: Currently using Nokia C6-01. Its my first time using a Nokia and i had a bad experience. Not even 2 weeks after i bought it the loudspeaker went kaboom and i need to send it for repair n waited 3 weeks. So was hoping that i could get a better phone than that. No offence intended to Nokia fans >"<

Why not go for a desire S? Everything basically the same as an IS cept that its slightly smaller at 3.7" .

Oh well, i went to Mobile88 website after u mentioned Desire S. Unfortunately, it is out of my budget. sad.gif
It is priced at RM1640-1720.

The Desire S has a 5mp camera instead of an 8 one.
mobile 88's price aren't accurate. An AP Desire S these days is only around 1.1k

hello guys... i need help in choosing a new android phone.

currently have my eyes on samsung s plus

1) budget below 1.5k

2) excellent gps performance (fast lock and stable)

does samsung s plus has this kind of gps feature?

thank you for helping

I bought my Samsung S Plus last week instead of Incredible S that the sifus recommended coz of video call. Coz it seems that Incredible S doesnt have video call function unless Skype or something similar is installed into it. Whereas Samsung can go without those. So far there is nothing wrong with the phone. The cam is decent for a 5mp phone. However, it does not have flash. I've tested it out by taking pictures of food inside a cafe its decent as well. As for GPS, the seller helped me installed PAPAGO into it. So far so good however it tends to take quite a long time to detect GPS signal (my phone is not rooted coz its still under warranty tongue.gif ). I have to stand near a window for like 5minutes or so until i can fully utilize PAPAGO. The touch screen sensitivity is great (i played TapSonic) and the SAMOLED screen is great too rclxms.gif . I bought the S Plus for RM1250 original at LowYat and Incredible S cost RM16xx original. And if you are the ones that love to trade in old phones and buy new phones, HTC doesnt have much resell value compare to Samsung (thats what all the seller told me).

I think if you try to lock the gps from standing near the window sure got lag one. My desk is next to the window in my office and just now i test the desire's gps. It took 6 minutes plus to get it lock to the satelite for my papago.

What about trying it in open space or put it on your car dashboard and drive in open space (without tall buildings around). On a cold start, my desire will take 1-3 minutes, depending on the surrounding area where i drive. If its a non cold start, it can lock very fast, sometimes as fast as my garmin nuvi

Hmm.. i tested it in my room actually tongue.gif . There isnt any tall buildings around. I used GPS Test app first b4 opening PAPAGO. My first time using GPS so im quite noobish.

Its a SCLCD. Not an S-AMOLED.

HTC's resale value is quite high in GS though. Used Nexus One's still go for around 8xx these days.

suck? it's all good to me since the 1st day i got it. S-AMOLED.. well my buddy is using SGS2 but don't think there is anything to shout about it. Ok la nice view but not much impact functionality.

Please take note, im not someone who would watch a video on the phone cause i rather do it on my TV. tongue.gif Anyway planning to sell my ACE d. gotten myself Xperia Mini Pro. For the keyboard yo. haha

Agree with you tongue.gif . My brother just bought his SGS 2 for RM1899. And its like no different from my S Plus. The only difference is that it has 8mp with flash cam, a dual core processor and a 4.3" screen. hmm.gif Mayb im simple-minded . Too complicated and high tech stuff cannot enter brain whistling.gif .
