It's under warranty. Complain and write in to Syed Zainal until they fix it or replace with a new car. If still no response, then write to the papers.

dont worry, be happy

just check ur air filter box whether the 2 lower locks are slot properly anot.

alot of lancers also have this problem

bring service, SC take out the air filter to blow, then didnt lock the bottom locks, thats why sound very coarse.

like open pod filter. just go to any mech and he'll get it done for u. must make it as a sticky, too many inspira owners have this problem.
*
Hahahaaha...you're right bro.
Went back to wshop & resnapped the bottom lock and the car is back to its powerful best!

Does your car engine "roar" louder than usual too??

Look at the post above, if the engine sounds much louder and has loss power, this could be due to the improperly closed air filter box...

i just checked my inspira 1.8manual air filter, noticed that only top portion has the 2 clip on bracket not at the bottom, this is the 1st time i see the air filter wall exposed as part of the cover box... sweat.gif

enquiring for an open pod filter from speedworks & few others accessories shop for price comparison... brows.gif

There are two hook clips at the bottom, these must be aligned to the air filter as well as the top clips, to form a perfect seal arnd the air filter...

Most SC fails to realise that they must also align and lock the bottom hook clips too, not just the top clips... and not locking the bottom hook clips will result in a much louder engine roar and loss of power...

Open pod modification need more work, as the open pod intake must be positioned to the front and will be placed where the battery is currently placed... thus the battery needs to be reposition too.... brows.gif brows.gif

Unless you want the open pod intake to be where the current air filter box is, at the back and sucking in hot engine air... sweat.gif sweat.gif

Do let us know there prices that you can get....

yours took less than an hour job..

fantastic, which SC bro?

Added on September 6, 2011, 6:12 pm
i think mine will be around your amount of hours, as the personnel mentioned, it'll take 2++ hours..

nabeh, where got time to waste..

I personally stood there and watch them do the replacement job, they unscrew few nuts, remove the bush and fit the new bush back in and screw the nuts back in, its was during puasa month so the pace was pretty slow for the malay mechanic but he was slow and steady, which I prefer rather than a rushed job...took 1 1/2 hour because I changed engine oil too...went at 330pm, work start on my car nearly at 4pm, I left at 530pm...the infamous SC is Senaxis at Taman Mayang..

yupz, thats the interesting part... if maintained in the original position, needs heat shield & cold air intake, otherwise need to swap place with the battery with heat shield... will be keeping the original air box just in case sweat.gif

oh, might be purchasing ultra racing front lower bar & rear anti roll bar after testing it at frens place... brows.gif

ohh.to be absolutely sure, u must take out the air filter. alternatively, u can see if the margin of the air filter runs parallel with the sides of the air filter bracket.

if ur car has been noisy after service, it is the only reason

called shah alam centre of excellence to check out my inspira 1.8manual 'kluk kluk' sound, next available spot is 13th next tuesday, deng... shakehead.gif

bout the open pod air filter, got advised by a fren's close buddy who mod cars said not to use k&n as it will results in power drop, mivec ori air box is good enough, unless u go all the way in adding bolt on turbo, port polished, lighten crank pully, mandrel bent etc etc., then can fully installed a suitable open pod + cai + hs sweat.gif

same with me, its normal, as the service booklet was printed way back, and only comes with 3 yrs warranty, but as long as you purchase your car during the period where the 5 yrs warranty is applicable, rest assured.. when they register the proton car under your name, it will be in the system, saying this car has 5 year warranty, even then, by 3 years, i think you might wanna change car already..

this is logistics problem, and as usual, they don't realise such issue in depth..
