Snowfish: u see the Kenny's post, he showed pics the paper cone speakers.... you can get bass from these, only if you ON VAPS... but dont expect to get BOOM BOOM bass.... for that you have to change component speakers + subwoofer + amp....
Oh ya, the cup like thingy is actually a cigarette ash holder... ashtray lo... |

SnoWFisH: Never use the onboard computer to measure FC, do it manually (L/100km = Liters x 100 / distance or km/L = distance km / Liters) or use Fuelly.com... Daniel520: Honda CVT have issues actually (lack power, rubberband effect... google it), but their biggest failure is Honda's own farkup... the SC uses normal gear oil instead of CVTF and this kills the CVT GB...!! The effect is the same as us pouring diesel into our tank, your engine will die and need complete overhaul...!!! Beware, Inspira uses Diaqueen CVTF ONLY..!!! |

QUOTE(runemastertan @ Jul 31 2011, 05:26 PM) Well, the SA said that in time, the belt grip in the CVT gearbox for City will loosen up, and will cause major problem for the car. The problem can be fixed by changing the CVT gearbox. This is total BS and proves the SA tok kok.... if belt grip is the problem, why does changing the WHOLE gearbox help?? Not change the belt or the grip???Same like changing the engine when all you need to do is change the timing belt (for normal cars).... |

QUOTE(munky @ Jul 31 2011, 09:56 PM) guys, about the volume reducing issue whenever there is noise, that one is BS la. My colleague told me its a problem with clarion's HU itself. And pls show us the academic qualification of your colleague, or tell us he works in Clarion, AND that he actually owns an Inspira.... else he is yet another hear-say expert....The volume issue is due to the single chip tuner solution, and these digital tuners will reduce volume when they detect static... Even Pioneer's Digital Tuner III (the one I am using in my old junk) does it... but not as drastic as Clarion, which i think had applied noise reduction way too much... Also, XCInspire have gone to Clarion and changed THREE digital tuner chips... and in one chip, the volume dont drastically decrease, but the static is increased.... in the end, he reverted to the original chip as decreased volume is better than increased static... So I rather believe an owner that HAVE changed chip and been serviced by Clarion, rather than your "qualified" friend... The above is directed NOT to offend you Mr Munky... only to your learned friend... from Mr BLUNT himself... This post has been edited by Poadster: Jul 31 2011, 11:22 PM |

QUOTE(SnoWFisH @ Jul 31 2011, 11:31 PM) It could be that their DSP filtering is not optimized, where the signal in the pass band got attenuated too much. If its a software issue, then its possible for Clarion to fix it in the future (if they are willing to do so). Otherwise someone will have to do some hacking. So far, I don't face this problem with my tuner yet... They are willing, as XCInspire can be witness to.... its not the DSP issue, its mainly the tuner chip problem.... donno what setting they use... and i still think their noise reduction filter is too high, and this could have been set in the chip, thus the reason they tried diff tuner chips for XCInspire...You will not have much of this volume issue if you drive in open spaces like arnd PG, you will encounter this in places with lots of high rise and in long highway drives, where there is plenty of signal loss due to deflection and blind spots... Added on August 1, 2011, 12:02 am QUOTE(PrinceCaspien @ Jul 31 2011, 05:54 PM) Yes it does...It dims on when you unlock, and brights when you open the door... and dims off when you drive start your car... It also dims on when you remove your keys, brights when you open the door... and dims off when you lock the door... This post has been edited by Poadster: Aug 1 2011, 12:02 AM |

QUOTE(SnoWFisH @ Aug 1 2011, 12:15 AM) In that case probably is the filter design in the tuner is non-ideal. Can't really comment unless we see the frequency response of the filter. That i leave to you to find out... u seem way more qualified than me in this area.... me kaypoh king.... The tuner chip, we must use the same one manufactured by Clarion or there are alternatives? Anyway we can use back the dual-tuner chips? Added on August 1, 2011, 12:57 am QUOTE(munky @ Aug 1 2011, 12:44 AM) Ok chillex. Then he is qualified to say it... My colleague is an engineer in the engineering design department handling the electronics stuff in the car including the radio. and yes the chip is the cause of this. R u satisfied? But if he is in that field, obviously he knows that single chip tuners does have noise reduction when it detects noise, and for him to say that volume reduction when there is static = BS, almost equates him to telling us that what we are hearing every day and time when we drive our car is all in our head and its not true... At least your qualified friend have admitted its the chip as the root cause... to which we, and even Clarion, have admitted as much... we have never said this is a Clarion "feature" but have always maintained its is a Clarion HU problem... QUOTE guys, about the volume reducing issue whenever there is noise, that one is BS la. My colleague told me its a problem with clarion's HU itself. So what your qualified friend say in the chip causes the volume reduction..?? Or is he maintaining that the volume reduction is BS..??This post has been edited by Poadster: Aug 1 2011, 12:57 AM |

QUOTE(munky @ Aug 1 2011, 08:38 AM) I dont know the details of that said chip actually Yes, I agree.... the HU shld not have such issue, and thus why XCInspire have gone to Clarion several times to find solution to this.... and yes, this is a chip and Clarion issue...about the volume reducing thingy, maybe i used the wrong words lol. its not BS. I mean the radio should not have this issue in d first place so the volume wont reduce suddenly everytime there is noise But then, some owners that have changed to other brands of HU have also similar problems.... maybe need more feedback from other owners who have changed to branded HU instead of those china based dual din lcd ones... |

QUOTE(Matrix @ Aug 1 2011, 04:36 PM) But old Clarions don't have this issues....like my Savvy original Clarion....i wonder why they can't just change back to the old chip?? It's not 100% the HU problem, there are antenna wiring, connectors, CAN-BUS system, and the HU itself... its a combo of mismatched components, thus the problem.... |

QUOTE(nzh0920 @ Aug 1 2011, 06:17 PM) next week may b i will change the HU to china made lancer oem looking HU, anyone of you changed? looking for sean or rainbow motorsport better? i cant search sean address on web, only rainbow motorsport address. NOOOOOOO......!!!!!Unless you are WANT the audio quality to be way worst than the current HU.... no amount of fancy LCD touchscreen + GPS + DVD can compensate for the lousy audio quality.... Quite a few members have changed to those RM2K Dual Din Touchscreen GPS + DVD HU... that have fancy Mitsu logo when start-up... but mostly regret as the sound quality sucks compared to the Clarion HU.... Also, go to the ICE section and read QQMeng's feedback on the similar unit he recently installed... and he regretted it immediately.... coz u spend arnd RM2K for a lousy audio quality HU.... also, even Flyaudio sound quality is not on par with the current HU... Think carefully, and think why you wanna change the HU?? EDIT: Read his comment about the same china made HU that you are considering...!!! You do realise that these are all unbranded China made HU wrapped in casing, right...?? This post has been edited by Poadster: Aug 1 2011, 09:59 PM |

QUOTE(SnoWFisH @ Aug 1 2011, 10:03 PM) In the link poadster sent out, check post 60. I am looking for a GOOD quality rear view miror with built in LCD screen, like this...For me, until you can afford the trusted branded ones, stick to the current HU. Our current HU is actually not bad. very basic but it does the job well (well other than the tuner). Espec when it comes to ICE i never really trust china-stuff, Sometimes their GUI can be quite horrendous... Installing the reverse camera is a good idea...I'm also thinking of doing that Added on August 1, 2011, 10:04 pm ur neighbour kena poison liao...haha... Then all I need is to add the reverse cam.... but so far no luck finding good quality ones yet... |

Quite a few owners have installed, and their immediate reaction is the sound quality sucks.... so you need to consider your biggest wish from a HU... sound or fancy looks and gadgets...For me, the SQ have to be good as I will be spending much time listening rather than GPS or watch movie (while driving...??)... |

QUOTE(SnoWFisH @ Aug 1 2011, 10:10 PM) reverse cam usually not a problem the mirror monitor is and its not going to be cheap.... Mirror monitor can be cheap.... arnd RM300 can get, but need good quality ones where reflection must be good as this is a rear view mirror, must use tool when driving....After that...getting someone skilled enough to do it reliably The ones I see are like heavily tinted and dont reflect images well.... |

QUOTE(Matrix @ Aug 1 2011, 10:18 PM) The RM 1.2k i have installed in my Savvy is actually pretty good. Can watch movies, DVDs...good for educational DVDs for my son...he learn Mandarin on the way to school. Sound actually pretty good. It plays DIVX and i have down sampled some HD MKV movies to DIVX format which it plays flawlessly. Interface response also pretty good...better than dumb windows mobile 6.5 phones with resistive touch screen of yesteryear!!! Could have bought one under 1K, but dun have the size fit for Savvy, so have to buy this slighlty more expensive version. It supposely can link to a GPS remote receiver..and supposely receive TV station also, but i never figure out how to do that coz the manual is hopeless. Diff ppl have diff perception towards sound quality, I have listen to those china made ones versus our Clarion HU... and I can tell that there are HUGE differences.... so to each his own preferences...Still, pretty satisfy with it...but a bit expensive, IMO. But branded ones even worst...around 3K... Hopefully, it doesn't breaks down after 1 year... nzh0920: if you need GPS and DVD more, and you can live with sub par SQ, then these china made ones are relatively bang for buck based on the total features built in... Kenwood is the only branded manufacturer to include GPS nav unit with Garmin as package in the HU, its rather costly too... and be aware there are no BT features either.... others like Clarion digital medial player have BT but no GPS... If there is one that have all (GPS, Touchscreen, BT calls and audio streaming, USB, and good SQ)... i would have installed it oredi.... This post has been edited by Poadster: Aug 1 2011, 10:29 PM |

QUOTE(RahXeph0n @ Aug 1 2011, 11:19 PM) Too much poison aiiihh. Hahaha. Say Unker Poadster, I'm curious how are your rims? I was worried that they mar start to tarnish/rust after they skim off the top layer. To my long lost but found again friend, the rims was finalised with a protective layer of top coat to protect the final product.... feel free to cum TT and molest the rims on these cars: mine, Dessimo and XCInspire...Also, anyone did PPS here instead of Sierraglow? Wanna know if there are waterspots. My car now like leopard already >.< The only precautions you need is not to let the car wash ppl ever use those chemical spray on the rims (those used to remove the brake dust) to preserve the top coat... AND not to bump the rims against any roadcurb lo.... Added on August 1, 2011, 11:28 pm QUOTE(alpha_mid @ Aug 1 2011, 11:19 PM) I wasnt there...!!!Anyway, did you manage to add Papago X8 into your Lokatoo, or is that another Shazwan i see in the Navitotal and Jimon blog?? I have successfully added X8 into Lokatoo, now it has GarminXT, Papago X5SE and X8, and Lokatoo.... This post has been edited by Poadster: Aug 1 2011, 11:28 PM |

QUOTE(RahXeph0n @ Aug 1 2011, 11:47 PM) Thanks for the info bro. Still feel like getting that done. The few times that dessimo msg me about TT (Sorry Dessimo!) I always caught in some situation where I can't reply, either driving or at some meeting or function and whatever. Kinda hard to pop by on Friday nowadays. No news on the absorbers ka? Worth doing if you want to retain the comfort of the 16s, and the relatively lower cost of replacement rubbers...You could msg Dessimo when you free, can arrange quickie TT so you can see the rims on a black car.... it totally changes the look to more sportier when moving, and tidier when stopped, compared to the very cluttered and bz look of it originally is... |
