1. Annual Income: RM36K to RM40K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must

3. Card required for: petrol, hotel bookings, AirMiles, shopping

4. Existing credit cards if any: Nil

5. Preferred Bank or Considering CC from banks: CIMB Islamic PETRONAS, Maybank Islamic PETRONAS, Bank Islam (basically I'm interested in Islamic ones.. and PETRONAS ones)

6. Others: I have a savings account with CIMB (both Islamic & Conventional). I mainly need a credit card because I travel frequently and often need a credit card for my hotel bookings & whatnots. I fly at least once in 3 or 6 months and more frequent than that if there is any emergency as my hometown is in East Malaysia. I just started work for <6 months.

7. Estimated Spending per month with the card: RM1K to RM5K

Thank you for your recommendation.

Well you have answered yourself what card to get tongue.gif For overseas transaction, MBB Petronas card will give you lower transaction rate compared to CIMB. As for Airmiles and petrol. you can check out RHB Travel Money Credit Card but it is not an Islamic Credit Card.

online transaction and hotel bookings for overseas or local?

If local and for future petrol usage and cash back, you can consider UOB One Card, OCBC Titaium MAsterCard and Maybankard 2 Cards. Go with OCBC TMC first choice as you get 5% cash back for Petrol, Groceries, dining and Phone bills.

If overseas transactions very frequent, then I guess get Maybankard 2 Cards where the Visa or MC will give you the lowest conversion rate. The MBB 2 AMEX will earn you 5% cash back on weekends.

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: not a must

3. Card required for: normally spend on Petrol, grocery, dining, travel.

4. Existing credit cards if any: already has my Amex platinum credit card, so recommend me a Visa/Master card.

5. Preferred Bank or Considering CC from banks: recommend me pls.

6. Others: i will pay outstanding balance in full every month, so interest rate is not my concern at all.

7. Estimated Spending per month with the card: around 1k.

For less than RM1K spending per month you can consider OCBC Titanium MasterCard where you get 5% cash rebate for Groceries, Petrol, Dining and Phone Bill. But the cash back is capped at RM50/month. Therefore, you may not earn anything when go traveling but got the convenience of having a MasterCard.

Or get the Maybankard 2 Cards where the AMEX card you'll get unlimited 5X Treats Points for all transactions, and on weekends you get extra 5% cash back for all transactions but also capped at RM50/month. It comes with either MAsterCard or Visa which is good for overseas as Maybank's conversion rate is the lowest.

Click here to read more about Maybankard 2 Cards. In this article, I have done a comparison versus OCBC TMC.

For your case UOB One Card. Click here to read my article, REvamp UOB One Card - It'a A Pure Cash Back Card July 2011. You get cash back and no reward points, but I think the cash back better than points comparing to other banks' classic card.

haha, like chem said, from post above it has been decided it got to be CitiBank and you already got OCBC..

However Citibank Cards do no have auto annual fee waiver. You got to ask for it. So get the Clear Card where the annual is the lowest (I think) and you movie free tickets at TGV. Go to Citi site and check it out.
