Hi Guys,
Just got my HLB Classic, AmBank Gold and CIMB classic.
But dunno should i cancel HLB or not. Since what i know the benefit of HLB is only points and installment @ 6% which is relatively high.
Any advice should i keep HLB on top of the other two cards?
Thank you.

If your CIMB Classic is a Mastercard, I think you can utilize it better at Giant/tesco/kfc/guardian on Sundays. That RM50 GST can be earned back in very short time.

Maybe i'll just have to bear with it for 1 year then cancel it.
So i can utilize the RM50 GST for the first year tongue.gif
Since this is the first card i got before CIMB approved me (rejected twice before got my HLB)
Haha.
And also, the 1 year GST is charged which way? I got my card on Apr 2011, the next will be charged on Apr 2012?

You may reload at TnG Customer Service Centre using cc without any service charge. All Visa/MC are accepted except Amex/JCB/diners.

Whichever card u choose, don't choose HSBC. My HSBC master gold card chip got problem when using at Petronas Station. I call to raise my concern to the call center and they asked me to pay RM50 for card replacement.

Yah, MBB cards minimum income now is RM30K. Go try apply for the Maybankard 2 Gold Cards since you income close to the minimum. You would benefit most with the MBB 2 AMEX card for shopping, dining and groceries, that is if the place you patronize accept AMEX. Go to Places that Accept AMEX Thread to find out.

The best card for cash back for spending less than RM1k per month is OCBC Titanium MasterCard, however the annual income requirement is RM36K.

The problem is you pump at Petronas. If you pump at Esso or Shell, and for spending less than RM1K, Maybankard 2 Gold Card American Express the best with 5X TP and cash back 5% meeting your requirement for cash back and good points.

So if you still want to pump at Petronas, then look into CIMB Petronas card where you get 5% cash back on 1st of every month and 2% for the rest of the days in that month. However, please note, if you pump RM200 petrol only per month, the 2% cash back you get for the entire year is not even enough to cover RM50 GST.

My recommendation is to get Maybankard 2 Gold Card where you get 5% cash back on weekends for ANY TYPE OF TRANSACTIONS. Go to Maybankard 2 Card Thread to read more. And switch to ESSO if that is possible as you get additional 1.5% cash back from ESSO, please go read Petrol Thread to read more.

Your case OCBC Titanium for Petrol, Groceries and Utilities where you will get 5% cash back capped at RM50/mth. And if you spent RM10K with it, GST also waived.
Click here to read more about OCBC Titanium MasterCard. In this article, I also compare the benefits of different cards, i.e. OCBC TMC vs HLB, Citibank, etc.

Since you spend more than RM1K, another must have card to get is the Maybankard 2 Platinum American Express for weekend or once OCBC maximum cash back cap of RM50/month is reached.

Click here to read about Maybankard 2 Cards.. Read this article to see comparison between MBB 2 Cards vs OCBC Titanium MasterCard.

With above two cards, you can earn up to RM1200 cash back per year and that is not inclusive of the 5XTP you will earn from the Maybankard 2 Cards.

Citibank - well, you can read about their Platinum Cash Back Visa but annual fee not auto waiver.

Click here to read about Citibank Platinum Cash Back.. I did a brief comparison between Citibank Platinum Cash Back Visa versus Maybankard 2 American Express in this article.

Sorry, I don't know much about Islamic Cards. Moreover, my principle is not to pay a single sen of interest to the bank (i.e. work for the bank) - which should be the first rule for every card user.
