Why are we playing our first teamers like Suarez, Meireles and Adams against Exeter? We need to rest them especially Suarez for the next premier league game. Suarez has not been on a rest for the last season due to copa america. We need him fresh, lively and sharp......playing him against Exeter is a waste of his energy. I believe the 2nd team like n'gog should be more than adequate to overcome lowly Exeter. Besides i don't think fans would care much about the league cup if we win the EPL........

Ok no offence bro, but I am pretty cheese off by fans like yourself to deny any match a "couldn't give a rat's S" attitude. League Cup or not it's like what KD says, you have to respect the other team. Its by being respectful in both winning and losing, in any game no matter how big or small that makes us a respectable club.

KD has already infused his ideology of an already great club into his players and hopefully now he can do it to fans like you. Every match is a risk and every match is a chance to improve the team. Sure Miereles was injured, but he could have also been injured in training too even if he didn't feature, who's to say?

By saying its a waste of his or any players energy playing a "small" team is disrespectful and in so many levels that is where we went wrong last season. It does the team no morale good losing anytime of the season. Remember the loses to "smaller" or "unknown" teams? Remember our first half of the season?

If you are truly a fan then you would want to see Liverpool win every game - BIG or small. You would want to see your players playing together, gelling with every chance they get. And KD did make changes and he made good those changes. Unless he is a manager gone daft, i think this morning's performance is more than enough to build up the confidence of Carroll, Henderson and the rest of the team to shut most critics up. That confidence boost is priceless, more than trying to be over protective of our players like you suggested. To be fair, Suarez was rested when he only came on for the last 20 mins for the Arsenal game.

Have a read and understand what the KD is trying to do and if winning the League becomes a reality, it would be from this man's influence and confidence that he brings to the team and the fans.

that is my take on your post and yes I disagree a whole lot but no, still no offence.

Aye..thats gotta be the best buy since its initially loan with Milan to buy him outright at 6mil Euro if he plays >20 match.
Wonder why we din insert the clause when he went Juve last season wink.gif

Seem that they start good momentum already. Congrats.

btw, El Zhar confirmed move to Levante. And Pacheco sealed loan to A. Madrid.

& straight loaned out to Rayo Vallecano. Good biz on AM part. Can see whether he can hack it in La liga. If yes, buy him at a price agree now, which is low judging by the value of him now. If he don't sent him back to us. AM in a no lose situation here

Cos we have more respect to the competition & opponent. Face it, if we don't let the 1st teamers play, there'll be curse from all if there's unconvincing win, let alone draw or defeat.
Anyhow, the only 1st teamers that need rest is Suarez which play like an hour or so only. There's blend of squad & youth as well as 1st teamer which is not as bad as u portrayed though why Doni not playing is beyond me.

there's pre-agreed fee for AM to buy him outright at the end of the loan if not mistaken. So maybe thats the last we'll see of him.

We've not been having a good run in the Carling Cup. We last won it in 2003 and since then, we've been sent packing by lower opposition. We aren't in Europe at all this season much to my dismay despite the delight of some of you, and I see no reason we can't give the first team more opportunities to gel given the number of new players we brought in this season. That being said, we did start with Robinson, Wilson, Flanaghan and Spearing, our young uns. Also, Skrtel has just returned from injury and this game was to be a workout for him. I'd also consider neither Maxi nor Henderson solid first teamers as I feel we've better players in Meireles, Aquilani, Downing and Kuyt who should/could/have been start(ing) in their stead. If anything, I felt Doni should have been given a run-in.

I don't think we should take this cup competition for granted. It's still worth a spot in Europe.

Totally agree with you. Respect your opponent in order to be respectful, that's what KD said. smile.gif

Watched an hour of the match, sadly to say the only one I see that capable of creating scoring chances is Suarez. Everyone else are just doing okay. Henderson first touch is very poor in this game (maybe the ball is not official BPL ball laugh.gif ), C. Adam passes are not as accurate as he used to be and lost a lot of possession of trying to get pass player.

A win in the bag, but team play wise, there're still a lot of works to be done.

Likewise. It's why I was a little perplexed when some section of fans didn't mind losing at the end of last season so we'd miss out on the Europa, what with it all being "2nd rate competition".

Just got another PL match for next week only, then got international break already.

It's a blow but we still have a great team to gel together like we did last night. It's was a morale boost for Bolton game. We should keep the winning run on and on. It's about time!

its good to see first team players playing last night. it shows respect to Exeter too, by not playing reserve team players against them. morale boost for Caroll, a goal and hope he can continue to find the net starting the match against Bolton..
