yap. Im a former man Utd fan. But why in the hell im switching to Liverpool instead? I see the pureness of loving football in Liverpool. Its not about success, (well, its a bonus), its the passion, the history. U can tell all the crap about our rescent downfall, but it will never change our passion towards football and livepool. Thats what football and Liverpool has made us. A much more true FOOTBALL FAN than probably any football fans in the world smile.gif

wow, 1st time seeing Man U supporter switched to Reds esp someone ur age (assuming from ur username).

cos at ur age most that got into EPL goes for that team, so they are still winning which makes it lesser chance for those fans of jumping/switching/changing clubs.

QUOTE(normeck @ Jul 19 2011, 12:44 PM)
eh, want to know my story aa? why i love Liverpool?
Its my father that bring me to his friend house to watch Liverpool game. Its when tv generate by battery and need a licence to have tv.I think its the time we and Everton are in top. I think its year 1984-88. Ian Rush that influence me. ")
*
wah, u really different period Reds biggrin.gif

QUOTE(Everdying @ Jul 19 2011, 12:53 PM)
my tv back then current, no need license also tongue.gif
*
eh Ed, my time also need tv license la, think yours even earlier so most probably need. Or u illegally used the tv tongue.gif

As for me all my life I knew only Reds, influenced by bro. PPl ask me why Liv? just think that Liverpool sounds a chord to me, I like the sound of the name back then biggrin.gif .
Back in my times, there's no internet, difficult to source news. Mostly I went for outdated Shoot, Match mags which cost a fortune even though outdated sweat.gif I cut off all Reds related articles & made a Reds scrapbook (2 to be exact)
As I grew, the heart grew fonder of Reds as well, just like falling in love wub.gif
Then comes internet & all, getting to know Reds becomes easier & it struck me how much it means to us being a Reds. Read all about her beginnings, histories & all. The highs & lows, the tragedies, the achievements, I still cant get enough of her, even now.
SO for some who pronounced themselves as supporters/fans but have no interest in the history of the clubs made me dumbfound. wink.gif

He'll end up in RM or Barca one day if they come calling.
NESV already outlined their way of operating, buy young & sell on for profits.

Oh btw, Maddie must be happy since Downing's in the house. Long time din see him in here

We just stick to what we believe in, and show them in the long run we stuck with our team through thick and thin.

For me, dumping your fave club because of the lack of recent trophies is almost equally same as dumping your girlfriend/boyfriend after you find out she/he is not as good looking anymore, no matter how many great things he/she done in the past and how good looking is he/she in the past.

Thats what being Reds are. Hell thats what supporters should be... well who am I to judge whistling.gif

You like to hand some backhanded compliment don't you??? You a mancs in disguise under the tiger appearance. All ur posts here seem to slam Reds even though it may not looked like it in surface.
Not that it matters but I find it annoying for someone that like to post backhanded compliment or underlying meanings in others thread for its hypocrite at its best.

QUOTE(weichieh007 @ Jul 29 2011, 10:24 AM)
Cheer up bro.. If you did watch the live streaming, you would have notice that how understrength the team was at Istanbul last night..
On positive note, Aqulani had some good touches and passes in the 2nd half. He almost scored also..
*
He's almost being shipped off too tongue.gif
Anyway, its clear that his preferences is to play in Italy, that pretty much sums it up nod.gif

QUOTE(REDShaun @ Jul 29 2011, 10:42 AM)
Under strength or not, it was still really leaky bro. and we have acknowledged more than once that the depth in the squad is far from ideal.

but yes, Aquaman was looking a nice fit in midfield only praying his deal with Fior does not fall through.

If given his performance so far, he will be a fit with suarez in terms of tricky football.

Although it depends whether he still wants to fit in  blush.gif
*
Too much flair in the team, its pretty for the eyes but whether it'll work considering all along Reds is not a flair team but rather a cohesive unit. With Aqua as AM, there'll need at least 2 DM to compensate against competitive team, as he's a luxury player that dont contribute much in defense.

QUOTE(weichieh007 @ Jul 29 2011, 10:46 AM)
The year we got to the CL we lost to Mainz 5-0; Hyypia, Gerrard, riise, Bellamy, carragher and alonso all played in that match.
*
The year we lost to Espanyol we end up 7th wink.gif
Point is, though its pre-season, some positive performance will boost up confidence. Look how long we need to get going due to crappy pre-season in 09-10 & 10-11 which sapped the morale of the team

And luckily we won't have a friendly with Espanol. Maybe we should organize a friendly with Mainz and let them beat us 5-0 again, no?

Just trying to look at positive side of things my friend..

Added on July 29, 2011, 11:03 amI can't imagine what'll happened if Gerrard, Adam, Suarez, Henderson and Downing played while we still lose 3-0.

Riot?!
*
Just trying to paint a realistic picture my friend... wink.gif
Doesn't matter who played, the ones playing are deemed worthy of first team & most are internationals (incl Degen doh.gif ) at various age groups, so its disappointing with the display dished out.
By the looks of it, it'll be tough to gain back CL place as one of Ski, Man U, Gunners or City will have to drop out. Not to mention Spurs breathing down our neck.

Oh shit, I sounds like Maddie sweat.gif

Sometimes you can't blame him, the media will always ask him questions like this "why did you leave Liverpool?" "What made you want to leave Liverpool?" "Do you regret leaving Liverpool for Chelsea?" Obviously, when they get answers from Torres it will be exaggerated and some parts missing. This way they generate readers by riling up the Liverpool supporters.
*
How hard is it to say "that's in my past though I will remember it fondly, for now I'd like to concentrate on current club & my sugar daddy." Afterall he does have a PR manager to help him construct some sentence if ever he's to dense whistling.gif

I dunno about missing/exaggerate info, but most of the pieces & bits utter by him since he moved aren't very bright. Now that cant be every single pieces are screwed ard by the press can it?

I'll remembered fondly abt him when he's a Red but since turning blue more & more crap came from him, almost all trying too hard to justify his decision to jump ship.

I mean its his choice to hand in transfer which are perfectly fine, save for the timing & all, which all players do, but this comes across as someone trying to hard to convince himself that his decision is right, to the point of annoying. He doesn't have to keep on justifying his decision u know, to the point of belittling his former club.

nando, he could CHOOSE to answer diplomatically which wouldn't ire the likes of me. Even if the press asked him why choose Chelski over Reds, he can answered the way I reply in the above. By not doing that, he's taken the press bait. Come to think of it, every p[ress ask him the same question if he answer diplomatically wouldn't it died down instead of stoking more fire? shakehead.gif
Emotion ran high the way he left us, so he shouldn't have taken the bait, not when he have the choice not to do so.
You can say he must praise his new team, but wording wise, he chosen wrongly.

I say sack his PR manager whistling.gif

Before anyone said thats the past, lets moved on, I'd like to say I've moved on, but it doesnt mean I cant discussed anything about him just like we discussed Shanks, God, Uncle Bob etc....

Can't just say thank you, it is the past already.
Both parties move on.

Why need to criticise?
*
I din know we cant talk about the past whistling.gif
oh if u care to see, the article is clearly stated 3rd Aug 2011, though the content is recycled.
First discussion on selling Gerrard for RM50mil though hypothecally is a sin, now talking about past is???
Well might as well move on & never mention Fowler, Shankly, Paisley again wink.gif

Say's who?
Why do we need players who take GBP 60k~80k a week just to sit on the bench?
Aurelio has lost yards of pace and is not looking as sharp as he once was. If he is not playing regular EPL games, he will only deteriorate....sell him while he still has value....
As for Meireles, we could easily get GBP12~15 million for him. We could sell him and pony up a few quid more to get a top class central defender like Per Metersacker who is currently available.
*
If its as easy to get the figure, we already fielded bids for him. Seems the market is waiting for some big transfer in Italy to trigger transfers merry go round.

no one want to discuss bout our reserve defeat to sporting lisbon??..from what i read,we played a good game..the only thing that missing is scoring goals..again they said Raheem Sterling was fantasticos!

For all the hype about our youths, this is quite a disappointing result. It showed that our youths is not as good as we like to think.

QUOTE(account_manager @ Aug 18 2011, 02:48 PM)
we lost 3-0 in Anfield. these are the future of Liverpool. we should be better against Molde (7th sept) on the next match. 2nd half was quite better from the lads. just unlucky. with Molde and Wolfsburg in the same group, i think we have a chance to qualify to the next stage.

sporting played well.. they have a good academy.. just look at figo, cristiano, nani..
*
Read that we played quite well though obviously not as good as sporting which is disappointing to say, since the academy consist of players scouted far & wide who are deemed good enough to be recruited. I'm sure our resources + facilities are much better than Sporting.
For all the Figos, C ROn & nani, our academy did churn out the likes of Macca, God, Stevie, Carras.

Signed him when the 1st team in Far East. Anyway, its promising youngster which always end up on loan. But in this case, apparently he's a very hot prospect & cant get work permit IIRC. So best is loan him out.

Yea I know...I wish he stay too. But unfortunately he has repeatedly mentioned that he prefers to stay in Italy...homesick maybe? And Milan is coming up with their offers, as confirmed by Berlusconi. That's why Kenny is not naming Aquilani on the bench at all, as he probably believes Aquilani wants out. Most Italian players would love to play for Milan anyways...

It's not for us or Kenny to decide to keep him now, it seems like it's himself who wants out.  hmm.gif

Anyways we already have decent cover, though he's creativity and movement can work for us...just wish him good luck in Milan then.  sad.gif
*
Read Milan wants him but not willing to pay >6mil Euro.
With this kinda price, might as well keep him till contract expire since doesn't generate much income & we got another creative outlet

It isn't just his selling price. I believe we're trying to trim our wage bill. Not sure how much he's on but Fiorentina were unwilling to match his demands which leads me to believe, it's quite a fair bit.
*
Read somewhere its ard 80k/week. Thats ard 4mil/yr.
But to sell him at 4mil GBP made no sense even after taking his pay into account. To be honest, he's nvr given a chance to show what he can do, he did show glimpse of brilliance to open up defences in the short time he's on the field. So to buy someone @ 18mil & sell him off @4mil without him given proper chance is smack of foolish deal.
Esp 1 year down the road when we're crying out loud for playmaker to open up defences & spend another 20 mil for another playmaker. AA prime is to come btw.
All said, I'm against selling him at such a low ball price. Milan is just squeezing to milk us dry.

Added on August 22, 2011, 5:13 pmTo trim wage, need not look further than Cole at ard 110k or Poulsen @ ard 60k, even Ngog rumoured to be on 40k doh.gif

Disclaimer: no hard evidence on their exact pay, just speculation which normally is almost there.

Don't get me wrong. Like most supporters, I'd prefer Aqua to stay.

Having said that, if you want to sell a player for a better price then it make sense to play him and let him display his skills for prospective buyers to see.  Instead of 'haggling' with the likes of Milan, KD should let Aqua show off his skills on the pitch and then tell Milan (or whoever): did you see that? now give me 20m of buzz off..!

Hopefully, after Aqua turn in a few motm performances, KD will say : he's not going anywhere .. just buzz off!
*
Maybe for someone young but we're talking about an established international here not 1 cap wonder. The only problem he has is the injury record which he dispelled with his stint at the Old Lady last season.
Moreover KD doesn't see him as 1st team player so why would he bother to alter his preference to suit someone that the club is looking to flog off? Afterall its Commolli or the mgt problem not his. This is not some Footie mgt game to play a player to enhance his value dramatically.
We actually got our hand tied by spending heavily & not clearing the deadwoods earlier, hence everyone now knew we're desperate to offload players which result in the rumored Milan absurd bid.

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Aug 23 2011, 11:43 AM)
Like most, I'm against selling him as well but I don't know what's going on behind the scenes. From what I saw during pre-season, he's in amazing form and we could use his creativity to open up the game. We were drab against Sunderland and I reckon his introduction would have created opportunities. It seems to me that Carroll in particular needs someone to play right behind him to take some of the heat away. He isn't like Suarez who can work in tight spaces and create opportunities for himself. With Stevie out, and Meireles seemingly out of favour, it seems to me that Aquilani is the best candidate. I can't for the life of me understand why he isn't getting a game but if you look at King Kenny's signings, he seems to prefer English steel.
*
Beats me as well. But personally I think its a bit flaw as English steel seems a bit dated. I mean how long does a majority English team win anything? You have to look back in the 80's Reds team which coincidentally managed by KD as well.
Problem is English steel no longer rules the roster, anyway what wrong could it be mixing some of the silky skills & flair (not withstanding Suarez) to those steel? Selling him to Milan at a price dictated by Milan will be the dumbest thing to be done.
Actually in Meireles, there's someone with similar game play to Stevie but there's none in the team that offer what Aqua has.
Since selling him at 4mil will be almost same as losing him for free, might as well utilise him to the end of his contract even with rambling from his agent but heck, which agent keep their mouth shut???? None, cos thats what they do.
