Hi all,

I just bought Nikon D5100 and found a stuck pixel (red dot only on black background) on the LCD. Is it nikon will accept RMA for this defect? or any quick solution to the problem?

I'm quite sorry to be a new guy in photography here but what do u mean by just 50mm? what kind of lens is 50mm? Any tips please? Coz i'm also looking for a new lens for my 2-week-old D3100, help me out pls ><

Wow that's really nice photo! Yah just did a 5-minute research and noticed this difference! But what' D and what's G? What do they mean ? My D3100 compatible with which one ah?

G version, also G is newer....price also expensive a bit.

D version on your non-auto-focus DSLR body will not working in auto focus.

U should go for 50mm 1.8G if u want AF.
Take note the 1.5x crop makes this a 75mm lens on a DX.

If u like MF, then u can for 50mm 1.8D.

Just bought a D7000 Kit set 1 week ago.....getting a hang of it and still got lots more to learn....but then Its an awesome camera. Good price too...Rm3750 at DigitalMall PJ. Will play around with the KIT lense before going onto other lenses.....

The red dot is visible all the time at the same spot when the background is black. However, the output picture is good.

I suspect it is due to stuck pixel during red color rendering.

The price seems good! Which shop did you buy from? Any other stuff in the package i.e *GB memory card or tripod /dslr bag? I wish to buy as well!

The competition between manufacturers (ie nikon, canon, Sony, penny, oly etc) are really aggressive, now prices between nikon distributors are agressive too! Which is good for us consumers, how nice if lenses like the 70-200 vr ii is sub 6000 hahhaa!

Street price for 70-200 VRII is RM6,950 as per my last update last month.

Cheap liao, last time around 7k+ when I almost grab it =,=

What's DX and what's FX?

DX = crop sensor
FX = full frame

in short, larger sensor , the expensive the price of the body DSLR, and better the performance of course. XD
in low light the noise handling also better too.

but u wont upgrade ur 70-200 as fast as a body

ya now saving kuat kuat lor, hopefully can get 1 FF body before oversea company trip.
as for the lens, beside 35mm f/1.8...lucky i got friend can borrow 50mm f/1.8D to play first XD

Sifu(s) need some opinion on macro lens for my D5100
I have 2 lens to choose from (given with limited budget)
- Tamron 90mm AS AF Di (lastest with build in motor, not sure with this statement as different site show 2 versions) F/2.8
- Nikon 85mm ED VR F3.5

I have being googling this but havent found answers like sharpness accuracy and AF speed. I hope someone can help me out here

I prefer 85/90 for working range with bugs (not incline w/ 105mm nikon, kill my pocket budget kaw kaw).
