could be your mobo cannot support above 250?
IINM also brisbane max around that clock..

oh.. urm, i hope i get to 3.2ghz .
btw, i want to know if my ram timing can improve more?

if you want to know whether its your HTT aka FSB limit or not, try use lower multiplier for the proc and ram divider.
find the highest FSB your mobo can achieve. let say if you can get 300X8=2.4GHz, so the 300 HTT is ok edy.
then find the proc limit by set the lower ram divider. increase the VCore step by step. btw 3.2Ghz on Brisbane G2 is almost the limit.
increase the Vcore a bit until 1.45V. watch out your temp during stress. what cooler are you using

i want to know it this fine tuning for my cpu.
because i totally confuse with my ram timing. i read so many topic and don`t get me understand . adui!
when i changed my cpu base to 256 and multiplier 12.5 = 3.2Ghz .. i got blue screen
so i decrease the cpu base to 248 ,multiplier 12.5 .
and got no problem,

so, please help me if i can get my cpu to 3.2ghz . i appreciate who help me
ram 800mhz default and i changed to 667mhz.

hi guys...

Im planning to unlock my phenom II x2.
not planning for overclocking yet.
and.. i have below decent knowledge about hardware biggrin.gif
my current rig:

AMD Phenom II X2 550 BE
MSI 770-C45
Kingston KVR DDR3 1333 2GB
Kingston KVR DDR3 1333 2GB
Sapphire HD 4870 512MB DR5
LG DVDRW 22x
WD 500GB 7200 RPM
Vantec ION2 500w
Coolermaster Elite 335
Acer X233H

to be replace before unlocking:- (limited budget)
1. ram - suspected faulty coz get error from memtest lastnite. also maybe the reason why i got random bsod after idle/streaming movie.
going to test one by one.
Question: is 4gb value RAM good enuff?

2. psu - planning to get 2nd 700w tagan.
Question: will my rig waste power (sh!t, i dunno how to elaborate this blush.gif biggrin.gif )

3. heatsink - getting better than stock, such as cm 212 evo or equal. my current cpu fan already at 6000 rpm doh.gif (average 44'c)

4. Fan - atm, my casing have front(120mm) and rear(120mm), i tot to add 1 more <120mm fan at side panel (custom) too cooling my gpu.(atm idle= 58'c). placing below gpu-blow in+filter.
Question: 120mm or 90mm fan?, should i plug all fan case to mobo or psu? (atm. rear=mobo. front= psu)

am i doing this rite? hmm.gif biggrin.gif

feedback plz thumbup.gif notworthy.gif

1. any value ram is good. or even better if the chip is good because some so called 'perfomance ram' is not good
if the chip is not good. again, if we are talking about non-OC setup, any value ram is good actually.

2. for me, if the PSU come with cheap price, why not? brows.gif
its only a waste if you buy new >600W at >RM350 but your rig only consume below than 400W nod.gif

3. best bang for buck drool.gif pair the evo 212 with another 120mm fan. make it push-pull setup rclxms.gif

4. if the fan is below 1.5A, you can plug em to your mobo. but i personally always connect the fan direct to PSU,
only the proc (HSF) fan is connected to the mobo nod.gif

wondering why after half year launching FX-8150, the price in Malaysia still very costly (RM900+)while us market selling it around $230 (RN690)
Is there a tax on computer hardware?

1.Value ram not an issue of OC for black edition processor
2.700w too much for your rig even after OC kaw kaw, get a 80+ around 500w will do
3.depend on your budget, CM 212 evo not bad after all (with direct heat pipe)
4.i prefer 120mm, you can plug all to psu, then side panel to mobo (so that you can set auto adjust the fan speed via mobo)

hope this will help biggrin.gif

hope_remeber, definitely he has a very good ram (winova xtune) which is consider cheap but the perfomance is drool.gif
if you intend to OC you ram (which is i recommend you to OC ram as well), just get the xtune from hope_remember.

for me, no point if OC the proc only without increase the ram speed and tighten the ram timing nod.gif
this ram easily run at 1800 CL8 at below 1.6Vdimm drool.gif xtune review by Sir ah_khoo

thx mate... thumbup.gif
however already bought the 700w and n520
edit: change tagan to cm 550w real power for some reason.

I already do what you say it , i can set to 300x9 =2.7Ghz and it pass stable with 400 ram divider.
i just can`t get to 3.2Ghz ... so for now my stable overclock at 3.1ghz test with prime95 1 hour ( 248x12.5 .)
so, i just want my ram frequency runs at 400mhz
i set my ram divider and FSB from 533-667 can`t get 400mhz timing
now my ram divider is 667 , frequency 388.0 .

sorry

during 3.2Ghz, what is your VCore..
your ram default is at divider 400 or 333? your ram voltage? try pump vdimm at 2.1V.. timing set at 5-5-5
ant cpuz for your mobo, ram?

d thing with am2 is, diff CPU multiplier will affect ram freq, even ram divider is fixed. pls refer to d table below:

1.4 - 1.45 vcore.
my ram default is divider 800 . so when i increase FSB from 200 to 300, me using divider 400
ram voltage set to auto
timing 5-5-5-18-23-2T

btw, i can`t increase my FSB more than 300mhz

here some information when i overclock to 3.2Ghz :

FSB : 256
Multplier : 12.5
HT link : 4x
memory divider : 667
timing : 5-5-5-18-23
Vcore : 1.4-1.45

when i boot to window run with prime95 about 2 minutes and it give me error,
memory frequency from CPU-Z : 400.8mhz
