u gotta check whether it's memory or cpu clock is causing d instability. lower either ram divider or cpu multiplier one at a time so that u can find out d culprit. smile.gif

hi guys! its been a while.. now im planning to replace my mobo and proc and ram.. what will stay in my good ol centurion 5 are my ggbyte odin550wtt and gtx275 plus all the hdd.. what would you recommend me to get? the technology is so darn fast and i could not even catch up.. stopped playing since ddr3 came.. so im totally new, and please guide me.
p/s: im more into gaming and if 4 cores doesnt utilize much, i wont mind getting a higher end dual core.. but i believe u guys know better, and would recommend me the best bang for buck setup! thanks!

if you are not running benchmarks 1333 is enough smile.gif

you wont notice any difference between 1333 and 1600 in real life applications anyway....

for normal day-to-day activities, quantity > quality. as for benchies, u can directly compare freq to freq, timing does matter too. smile.gif

10 gb vs 2gb sure got difference la...lol sweat.gif

nothing to do with the ram speed...just quantity.. nod.gif 4gb is normally enough for normal users, those that run CS5 or video encoding normally will go for more smile.gif

if ur not fully utilizin 10GB i'd suggest leavin d system run 8GB (2x4GB), performance wise dual channel is better than single channel (2x4GB + 1 x2GB). smile.gif

my ram is running dual channel now 2x4GB + 2x1GB biggrin.gif

2x1GB is the 1st DDR3 ram i bought 2 years ago, that time 1GB DDR3 is RM130, so expensive sad.gif , i bought 1GB 1st & then 4 month later i bought again 1GB until today i upgrade

oh my bad, if that's d case just nice then... if u don't oc 2 x dual channel is ok, but if u do, that will limit ya ram oc mileage. wink.gif

i tried it yesterday, set the speed to 15++ Mhz, 5 minute on window then got BSOD, i use Athlon II X3 435 & Asus M4A77TD Pro mobo , is it true Athlon series only support 1066 & 1333 ram? if i put 1600 ram on it then is it will run only 1333Mhz?

any ram you put will run at default 1333. try using 2 identical ram only. use your 4GbX2 only.
if your ram speed (1333 module), when you wanna run at higher speed, might need to pump
vdimm a bit. try set the ram voltage at 1.60Vdimm then try to OC the ram again

btw can list your spec here?

here is my spec

Processor : AMD Athlon II X3 435 unlock to 4 core Phenom II X4 B35
Mobo : M4A77TD PRO
Ram : 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance CL9 + 2x1GB Kingstone value ram
GC : Asus HD4670 128 bit
Power Supply : Silverstone Strider 500w

better if i use only 2x4GB & oc or just use current setting without oc? which is more fast between this 2 setting?
my ram speed is 1333Mhz, so is it true i cant use 1600 ram due to limited memory support on Athlon series?

From your spec i think u should have no problem running ur ram at 1600mhz, that speed should be no problem for a rana cpu to run..
Tho ur ram oc maybe hindered by the combination of different rams and ur IMC.. hmm.gif

What is ur IMC volt & speed setting during oc btw? hmm.gif

erk what is IMC volt? speed setting during oc is 15++ Mhz btw i need to oc my processor to get above 1333 speed option, if with standard setting it will give me option 800Mhz - 1333Mhz, if i oc let say 3.4Ghz the option speed is 800Mhz-1800Mhz
