Agreed! Malaysia is only for filthy rich... if you are from low to mid level salaried person (salary below RM7K), u will damn suffer there.

I dont see why a person with salary of below 7k will be suffer in Malaysia? Too general your statement, if someone is having salary of 5k to 7k, life should be quite comfortable. However, if you compare to someone who want to live like a king, then, even 50k salary also not enough.

They also looking for customers like you unless you are looking for no agent advertisement to save the agent fees. You can come down to singapore and go to bus stop, bus station or supermarket where they have some advertisement board and chekc out yourself if anyone posting rooms for let.

opss... then i correct my statement, i live comfortably in JB with my current work permit pay. only Seantang, Mackiddo and mayb Mercury can live like King in Malaysia.

Comfortable and not luxurious. As luxurious had a berry berry broad defination for each individuals.

Staying in JB is cheaper compare to singapore but you need to compromise the time lost with money saved. But if can car pool to come to Singapore, really can save a lot of SGD $$$$ from room rental and parking fees each month.

thanks man, but I just cant find why I fail it, the interviewer (MD) seems he was impressed by me, but the end I din get any update news from them, even not replying for my email....

I been applying for job that allow me to apply for S-pass for few months, so far still fail. I think I have to lower my expected my salary to WP now. is SGD1800 is enough for me save 30% of my salary.

my estimation:
Rental:700
Food:300
Transportation:200
no entertainment
still at bordeline to save 30% of salary. I can apply for similiar job in Malaysia to save on my rental , but my job scope require me to travel using my own transport, when my car had been stolen. really headache now. >_>

rental $700?? serious? which area? so expensive meh?
if u really want to save money, buy a bike, stay in JB. then u can save a lot.
if u are a siham, i dun mind letting u stay in my house (i have 2 empty rooms) and i can send u to work and go home too if u work 9-6.

hehe u pass the interview, just that the Bangla is cheaper than u

Room rental no need 700 and you can always look for twin sharing so you can cut your room rental to may be 250-300. Look for a job where it is nearby to the place you stay and buy a bicycle and cycle to work if possible. Within a year to two, you will have lots of savings and can return to Malaysia to work and buy a new car with cash. Only worry once you enter Spore, your lifestyle change and you like to hangout at Starbucks, movies, and etc.

IT industry. I know it is very competitive in Singapore. yes there is 4K job in KL, but you must know backup, database, exchange, windows, linux ALL IN ONE.    If you have all the skill mentioned, do you settle for just 4K?

wat attract u to Singapore beside the strong currency ?
u here already ? since u lowering your pay expectation, maybe u need to keep your cost low as well, 700 is on the high side

I was able to live quite well in KL with a budget of 7K. Rented a 2 story terrace in Kelana Jaya, drove 2 cars (a 6km/L super petrol guzzling Proton Putra and a backup Datsun 120Y), ate pretty well, but due to the currency - probably had to think a bit longer to buy stuff like playstations, laptops and mobile phones etc.

Didn't feel like I was "damn suffer".

yes i also live comfortably, before i meet a KL gal who demand everyday fine dining, and collegues who like to go clubbing. But the killer was when the mortgage kick in.

ipoh gal is just less demanding .. especially the chinese ed one

will be back to Selangor at a place where is 1 hour drive from KL where i had already built my mansion ( not lar, just a semi-D) where i will retire there when i think i had earned enuff SGD$$$$. Will set up a shop there so that can have something to do to pass time instead of rotting there. May be every month can earn 2k, should be enuff to cover daily expenses..

wow...700 for rental is brutal man..nowadays i see only sgd 650. transport can save if u stay nearer to workplace or got bus got from ur place.
