I bought my Kingston PC2 5300 and i dont think its IBM certified. Nevertheless i assume its the same as the original RAM stick was running on Elpida chipsets and same goes for the Kingston. Bought 512MB for only RM190. My laptop is running on dual channel now so i believe those RAMs are identical. smile.gif

v3000z - stylish, handsome design, great spec for vista, truly for multimedia entertainment (turion x2 64bit, gf 6150, dvd burner, 1gb ram, altec speaker, 14" brightview) n affordable price, BUT hdd heat problem (i hate this the most), 2.5 hours battery life (can change to 12cell Rm300++ but heavy) n easy to get dirty (fingerprint prone)

r60 - formal look, very very sturdy housing (underneath is magnesium alloy), top notch built quality (the lcd hinge is superb), best typing keyboard feel (u'll nvr know after u use this), point stick (i start to love this, more convenient than touch pad), high security functions, extreme great software support, can customise kao kao, 4-5 hours battery life (6 cell) depending usage, and the most happy thing, TOTALLY NO HEAT PROBLEM even full load, farewell to my cooler, can on 24hours now naked, only cons, u pay the same price but get low spec (256mb, dvd combo - these 2 can upgrade; not altec speaker but not too bad; core duo 32 bit n gma 950 only - but vista will take years to shift to 64bit, n i din play games either; not brightview lcd - my eyes find this better, more comfort for long hour usage (4-5hours); no card reader - just bought external 1 RM23 from vcool; no svideo - this isnt important if u din connect ur lappy to tv, but i wan it actually doh.gif)

both got pros n cons, if u r looking for an all rounded spec machine w an affordable price, v3000z.. if u can fork extra n wanna bring the lappy around always to surfing n typing, IBM is no doubt

my own preference, IBM R60, my main task is typing n surfing, n bring the lappy around college for assignments, thts suits me perfectly compare to v3000z which has short battery life n hdd heat problem.. if i wan an entertainment machine, i hv already go for high spec desktop, i wont play games in college, or starbucks blush.gif .. anyhow i didnt play any online games or others either, as i oledi got ps2 tongue.gif

edited: and 1 more thing, the thinklight is extremely cool to hv, it's a small light at the top of the lcd and shines to the keyboard, i can now type in the dark room icon_idea.gif

I know where you got it... it's from www.lelong.com.my by a woman named Kelly.
Am I right icon_idea.gif ?

Anyway you can trust that the R60 will run fine for years to come because I got my R51e from her also icon_rolleyes.gif last year and it's running as good as new till today.

She sells ThinkPads at real low price + free gifts (free usb mouse, usb keyboard and 5pcs Sony CD R/W), till date i still wonder where she got the stock from.

Any hints wtm?
