read many forums abt ford, almost all owners praise its ride and power close to real contis, but all condemn after sales service in m'sia for ford.
hate to see that, as 2013 mondeo looks really awesome with that aston martin front look, and if couple with current 240PS engine and dual clutch tranny. Gonna b launched this month end at Paris Motor Show. |

QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Sep 14 2012, 08:40 AM) Thread seems dead. Gotta jump start it again i guess. The Active city stop seem like not auto braking leh, it is something like the auto engine on/off while waiting for traffic light or jam! This car is very attractive in terms of spec, but interior space is a bit too small to compete in the C-segment when comparing to the Civic, Sylphy...New 2013 Ford Focus launched yesterday. I would say the Titanium Plus (Sedan) is a real bargain for just RM128,888 (OTR): 1) ABS, EBD, TCS, ESP 2) 6 airbags 3) Keyless Entry & Push Start 4) Dual Zone auto aircon 5) SYNC audio system with voice command 6) 9 speakers 7) Leather seats 8) Power driver seat 9) Active Grille Shutter system 10) Torque Vectoring Control (TVC) 11) Active Park Assist (auto parking) 12) Active City Stop (auto braking) 13) Blind Spot Info System (BLIS) 14) Additional curtain airbags 15) Automatic Bi - Xenon HID lights 16) Cruise control 17) Rain sensing auto wipers 18) Power sunroof Not to mention the powerful 2.0L TI-VCT GDI engine with 168Hp & 202Nm torque. Plus Ford's new 5 year / 200,000km warranty. And we all know that Ford's driving dynamics and ride handling is really good. With this, the Ford Focus has raised the bar again in terms of specs on offer. Beats even the more expensive K5, Peugeot 508 and even the Japanese D segments. |

Active City Stop is automatic braking similar to the system designed by Volvo. The engine stop version is called Auto Stop / Start system. Totally different. No car will have everything bro. There will always be negative points for every car even Porsche. Im sure u realise that rite? |

At the rate other car manufacturers are pushing out better spec'd models at cheaper prices, Toyota will become quite insignificant in 10 years if they dont wake up now. As we speak, Hyundai is already developing the world's first 10 speed auto gearbox to be fitted in 2014 models. Ford on the other hand developed a 1.0L engine that beat even Ferrari's V8. What will they be developing in 2020 i wonder. I really cannot believe Toyota is just sitting idly by while their competition is wiping them out with good safety specs and car features. Yes Sime Darby better pick up their game in Malaysia. Pointless having top class models being let down by poor after sales. In that respect, i think even VW is having similar issues although i dont think its as bad as SD.hate to see that, as 2013 mondeo looks really awesome with that aston martin front look, and if couple with current 240PS engine and dual clutch tranny. Edmunds also tested the Focus Titanium 0-100 kmph at 8.7 secs which i think is quite alright for a 2.0L car.

Maybe you can try that the price per piece?Added on September 14, 2012, 8:37 pmnow that the ultimately bargain ford focus titanium + sedan has been a reference in this new camry forum also the new upcoming mazda 6 and upcoming accord, i thing it is safe to say that UMW is really bullshitting us. i highlighted 3 of them because fairly they offer exceptional powertrain n handling, while still be trusted brand. sorry to say but i think nowadays, refinement, reliability n durability is not enough in any market worldwide. ford is just slamming our market with tons of features n 1st class powertrain combo with great drivability n ideal efficiency. i bet the new mazda 6 n new mondeo with its aston martin's face will have a price tag close to 200k but i think many would not complain because its a good package. also the new accord. i think the new accord's design is much more acceptable with the great looking interior. which i believe HM gonna improve a lot in term of packaging to take full advantage of our market leader, camry. just giving my opinion This post has been edited by sl65amg: Sep 14 2012, 08:37 PM |

Beats even Michelin Pilot Sport 3. |

Yeah, your donations to the police will be really high with the Porsche. Met one recently who claimed to donate like 7000k each year...
Toyota is idle because, really, why shouldn't they? Toyota HAS better specs for their cars. If they wanted to they could start selling a 10 airbag Camry with VSC, relatively modern engine and tons of features tomorrow (ok, in a month or two). Right now they don't feel the need to, and they won't change their cars until they think they have to (which isn't a big problem, as long as the cars stay reliable and they don't wait too long (i.e. other manufacturers get traction). They can any time say "hey, now we have auto parking and 10 airbags too" and the uncles will stay with Toyota. The Focus looks tempting, yes. Auto City Stop will probably only work when not driving above 30, 50, something like that. Too bad. It would be cool to have such a feature that works at every speed, not sure why it isn't possible. |

They definitely had the right to do so, as they are at the dominant position at Malaysia market, while other car manufacturer is playing catch up, so most of them had to put more features and attractive prices to entice customer come. IMO, i think the active city stop's sensor had certain distance limitation, so if drive too fast, the car may had not enough time to do automatic braking. Now i wonder, since Ford Malaysia offer Ford Focus ST for those looking for more spirited drive, will they offer 1.6l ecoboost or TDCI version of Ford Focus in the future? QUOTE(kadajawi @ Sep 14 2012, 10:38 PM) Toyota is idle because, really, why shouldn't they? Indeed, they sell their cars based on market research on what the consumer wants and within the requirements of the local traffic law. If their cars continue to sell well despite the mediocre specs, then they'll continue to do so. If it doesn't, they'll start throwing in "upgrades" to bring the car up to par. And if that fails to push sales, then they'll know they've hit a price ceiling and will adjust their pricing in order to jump start sales again.Toyota HAS better specs for their cars. Right now they've got reliability and strong after sales as their main selling point and that alone satisfy a lot of people out there. VW's - let down by mechanical reliability, small service network and poor after sales service. KIA/Hyundai - suffers from poor brand image, unknown resale value and smaller service network Ford - Lack of quality finish, poor after sales service and small service network Peugeot - reliability issue, poor resale value, poor after sales service and small service network Until their competitors up their game further, they won't be too concerned yet. |
