Bro,
As far as i know,Conolon have 2 type. One is the fresh water type and the other one is towards jigging.

I doubt the info you got from TCE is not the jigging rod as you wanted the PE1-3

got it from kepng tackle yesterday paired with my new abu garcia cardinal 706...cant wait to start casting!! lol

My initial plan was to use the lure we bought, then CALIS (Cast And Let It Sink), and slow retrieval...

Added on July 2, 2012, 11:25 amBTW, what's the poundage that you were using?

The new revos looks impresive... all or em has weight reduction and none weight more than 7oz.

Revo STX has 8.0.1 gear ratio !!!

The new Revo SX priced at 160 USD roughly around +/- rm500 is kinda tempting. Dunno when are they gonna be available here though.

am keen but need to reconfirm my schedule. might be busy.

was at EAK last Sunday. Casted whole morning but get nothing. Maybe should use a boat. biggrin.gif In the afternoon at least managed to land 2 Pacu playing bottom. But the bigger ones got away. Any tips or tricks to share guys when hooked on the bigger pacus? They keep heading for the branches and reeds, at one point it got stuck and i had to cut my line cry.gif

caught the baung with bottom cranking, while I was reeling it in to switch to live bait.
first time using it.

but the story really worth telling would be the one that got away.
I'm reeling it in but the line keeps going out...

Sorry to say that I'm about to open up a can of worms... Please do forgive me if I've said anything wrong... notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Although I don't bring fish back as well and am a firm believer in catch and release, I don't really see it's such a big deal for ppl to be taking back 1 PB for consumption or whatever he plans to do it with. If he took any other local species like Toman/Haruan/Sebarau etc by the guni loads I'll be pissed as well vmad.gif vmad.gif

PB's are foreign species that have invaded our waters by the truck loads and eliminating our local species, just like how the snakeheads/asian carps are invading the U.S. I still remember quite a few years back I've seen photos of people (not sure if some organization or personal effort) putting in quite a number of juvenile tomans in subang lake to control the PB infestation, so after so many years I've not really seen anyone pull up any toman also from the subang lake, which means that most likely kena sapu by the PB liao.

Thought I'd shed some light on this matter to help protect our local indigenous species which is getting harder and harder to get (sad to say cry.gif cry.gif ) nowadays in the wild. I think in the future our children may not get the chance to feel the wrath of wild tomans/sebaraus and etc.!

Hope I did not offend anyone tongue.gif
