The kelong i went was RM20 from 9am till 3pm, if i didn't remember wrongly.

PD have a few kelong. Here ppl charge Rm40 per head, no rod limitation. U can go and come back whatever time you want, no ship services from 12am to 6am. They even can tapau food for you with extra charges. There are even stove and clean water on the kelong

personally think arctica3000 would be perfect with 20-30lbs braided for freshwater.and theres goes ur rm250 just nice along with the braided.
or mayb u can go loon fatt tackle in sri sentosa kuchai lama coz they're selling loose braided,and its cheaper than u buy a pack.

mmm..im not sure scott garden has a new shop.but if im not mistaken rm 198 was the cheapest i've surveyed.im using arctica also 
btw.i failed myself for not checking the new arctica II 
by comparing both specs thru d internets if im not wrong its almost the same specs arctica II is just slightly lighter.
how bout shimano?daiwa price range is prolly rm 100++ then jump rm 300++

Pond fishing no need use saltist and stella lo... Later the mekong catfish pull your whole set into the water then you cry like baby.

Braided has smaller diameter than mono of the same poundage. Fit more meters into the spool. And because of that, lets say if you need 200m lines for sea fishing, you can use 40lbs of braided but only 15lbs mono. Smaller diameter also important if you do bottom fishing or jigging in sea fishing because it doesnt carry away by current. Braided easier to tie knots, the knots tied also not big knots which cause backlash when casting. Smaller diameter casts better, fly further. Mono lines have memory which braided doesnt. Memory is like when you take the lines off the spool it will curl itself up. Curls like these will cause also backlashes, forms knots. Mono tends to twist itself very easily if you dont use swivel, twisted monos are easily snapped. Newer braideds have 8 strands, meaning if 4 strands are damaged by teeth and sharp rocks, u still have half its strength whereas mono snaps easily when apply pressure after it is damaged.

However mono lines also have their advantages which i observed. Mono sinks in water while braided not easily sank. Meaning if you do fishing with floats, and its windy, the braided will get blown away easily because its always on the surface. If you are a user of baitcaster and once you get a birdnest, the mono is easier to untangled than the braided, so that you dont waste too much of precious time untangling.

esp with regards to using pellet baits? any good mix types?

yesterday just back from Laguna, manage to caught 2 pacu, then earthquake happening, since then no even a bite....

Bite depends on times...and of course ur bait mixture
For me i just use plain bread floating, suitable time aro 5pm
