Thanks Mate,
Kepong Tackle aint the best place to shop beed there a few times and I felt like i was in Giant or Tesco. Price are relatively good but not the service, they dont have the Okuma reel i am looking for. I am hunting for Okuma Trio 20 or 30 model with the rod too. Anyone used it before? Cos I am also itching to get into finese tackling, and found Okuma setup seems to be the best bang for buck. As for Pflueger, I am just curious bout the Patriach price in Malaysia... searched online and its not cheap. |

These are the Okuma prices that I am aftering. Not sure if they are available in Malaysia. Fred Goh of Rapala did reply my mail on the reel. But I didnt ask him bout the 2 rods
Okuma Trio Spinning 20 & 30 Okuma Trio Spinning Rod 6' TR602SPL & 6'6" TR662SPL - 2-4kg (4-8lbs) Okuma Citrix Spinning Rod 6'6" (Ci-S-66ML) - 2.7-5.4kg (6-12lbs) Lets forget bout the Pfluger for now, its out of my budget... awesome light reel. love the carbon and Magnesium looks. |

QUOTE(rorytate @ Apr 19 2012, 12:50 PM) It's just a good one stop place. Many of the places you cant ask for more service too Thanks for helping out mate, Am checking the Okuma prices for you. Btw, what rod are you referring to? As for the patriach, you are referring to casting or spinning? I got Ocean Sea to book and order my Okuma Trio 30 rod and reel. Found out today that Rapala dont import the Citrix model as it was meant for Bass fishing and not ngam our fishes. |

QUOTE(rorytate @ May 11 2012, 11:26 AM) Hi Bro 1Dollar, THanks Rory, this means I have to go spend more money buying the ring remover and more hooks lol... pokaiThe rule of thumb for the lure vs single hook size 1. Lure with 2 eyelet - Single hook shank length to be 1/3 of the lure body size. (does not include lip) 2. Lure with 3 eyelet - Single hook shank length to be 1/4 or 1/5 of the lure body size. (does not include lip) Examples of lures with single hooks. ![]() Bad example ![]() Good example http://www.gerrysfishing.com/images/www.ge...0hook%20wkd.jpg Good example on 3 eyelet. Please take note of the hook points. Belly points down, tail points up. How deep is the pond at Jurassic? anyone tried Carolina and drop shot rigging before? Added on May 11, 2012, 11:35 amdo you guys wanna go window shopping at Qiao Yen tackle in town before heading out to the pond ? Last i went there, they were selling a lot of cheap china lures. Going for less than RM10, bought a few, decently swim action and caught peacocks with it at Subang lake. This post has been edited by 1dollar: May 11 2012, 11:35 AM |

QUOTE(wai1460 @ May 11 2012, 11:48 AM) Right outside of the Rawang KTM station. Corner lot, decent price but not many fancy expensive models. I was told they have sale up to 60% ocasionally to clear old stock. I was offered Abu stinger hornet for RM280, a BC rod that is, he mentione the usualy price was 330 or something like that. A friend got a Fenwick for half price during their sale. |

Cham sei,... my lure all 7g and below. lol... well i'll just go have fun.
Bro Rory, Technically,.. i think my new light setup can still handle if I put a long fight with the fishes and tire em out right? Any difference if i pair up my 10# sufix with a 25# shock lead? Or even adding a double heavy leader (with bimini twist knot)... can it make any difference? Added on May 11, 2012, 2:42 pm QUOTE(inv @ May 11 2012, 02:16 PM) Generally 3 ft is good enough if tie to braid. But depends on your need of lead.I use floro and mono lead just so that my braid is not so visible to the lure that is tied up. Another reason is for the strech and abbrasion... but my question is,.. will the lead add on any strengh to the line and setup? Single lead and double lead,.. any differences? Any one seen feathered single hooks in any tackle shops? Since i need to replace my lure hooks, I looking for those feathered hooks to replace my poppers and spinner and spoons. Preferably Siwash types. |

Hmm Kepong Tackle,.. near my office. Very tempting. Can drop by at JM Tackle too, just across the street.
For those buying lures, there are many brand out there. A decent price and brand to start would be River2Sea (Available in Kepong), River2Sea price are as low as RM12-15 for the poppers. I personally prefer the Japanese Lures like Duel/Yozuri/Ofmer,.. still working my way up to Megabass. As for the mat salleh brands, I prefer Storm to Rapala. |
