You know.. I'm actually thinking of a page instead of a group, where we can have multi admins across the school/faculty posting up stuffs like ads, accommodation review and all that.

Of course this would need a lot of planning beforehand.

It wouldn't be a LYN Nottingham group if we have these people involved. On top of that, there is a facebook group created by SA which is unsurprisingly deserted.

I dont get the line "if we have these people involved".

I mean, a page for the LYN Nottingham Group, an extension of what we have here by itself, not a page for Nottingham Malaysia. The same group of people "managing" the forum here, doing things like the things we did when we ported from v3 to v4.

LYN is quite limited when it comes to full fledged ads, photos and other things like that. We could do that in a FB page since we can post notes and all. We could do things what the SA cant do, like posting up rents and selling stuffs.

Which is why I say this thing needs proper planning before a "full release". But I'm so glad that our first page of v4 is so nicely developed.

[edit] My multiple admins doesnt mean those officials from the white building. It means us people here. Like tjj from Engineering, me from Biosciences (Am I the only one here LOL?), Cottoncandyclouds from Business.

And @entryman what course are you doing actually? You're not on the list? o.O

So if we really want a place to establish what we are doing in first page of v4, I think a page is more appropriate.

Hi entryman and tanjinjack ( err, I am sorry, I have not idea how to reply back on the post). Thank you for helping me with the questions. Thank You:)

Hmm yes, the quality of the hostel is really... not worth the money that we're paying. I guess they kinda like see that since choices are really limited for the students, especially for those new one, we have no place to go other than edu square or on-campus hostel, so they are taking every advantage they can from the students. lol

Let's not compare to those international one, at least like hostel at Inti Nilai, they are charging the same price for the single room with ensuite bathroom with a/c without having separate meter for the usage of electricity. Not to mention the rooms all are well-furnished.

Now, I am hoping that my classes will not be that packed, so that I can travel back and forth between uni and home.

Anyhow, thank you for the helps. Appreciate!

I'm a bit surprised that you would think INTI Nilai's rooms are better than Nottinghams'. I was from there actually and yes they do not charge utilities on a separate bill. But the price quite exp also lur, my room cost about 700+ a month, single with own bathroom.

And there are nasty guards who check your lugs when you bring big boxes or things like that.

Oh that's because my friend was from there as well with a single room, around rm 300. Hmm, I never been there before, was just browsing through their brochure on accommodation, it seemed not bad to me. lol. May be pictures are always nicer la.
Another friend of mine is studying at IMU, so she rent a master bedroom there in a condominium, around rm 400 excluding utility bills. Kinda feel like the rentals around nottingham are all overpriced, since there's a demand there more than supply. I have a uncle who lived at semenyih last year (around 10km from nott) before he moves to Kedah, he actually rent a whole house with only rm300 p/m. *Not trying to compare here, just feeling a bit heartache on the money that spent on something which are not worth the price, no choice*

entryman, I am from Klang.

Yea, the price just gets legendarily (sry, watching HIMYM tongue.gif ) ridiculous the closer it gets to Nottingham. You can even get a whole room for less than 1k in some areas.

And yes I had that exactly same impression "Wah so nice drool.gif" when I went thru INTI's brochure last year, but when I get there grumble.gif

Yesh thumbup.gif , we need more people to remain active in this thread. I hope more will come as it gets nearer to September.

The convenience of staying on-campus is priceless.

I travelled back and forth for my Moral Studies from Puchong in June. Even from there also it is a bit exhausting. And I'm only doing it 3 times a week. I can't imagine from Klang.

University life is incomplete without some stay away-from-home experience.

hey guys I just read the front page. thanks for being so helpful thus far.

I have couple questions.
I've never gotten mail by UNMC so far with all my offers being emailed to me. However I called UNMC last week to check the status of my application and they informed me I had an unconditional and I would get it by next week. Am I supposed to get this by MAIL or EMAIL?

Also same thing goes for the on campus accommodation. Will I get the offer by email or mail?

Secondly I'm curious to know if UNMC has a football team? or perhaps even intramural sports where you join teams and play for fun?

Added on August 15, 2011, 6:47 pmOHH PS I almost forgot. How's the internet connection in the on campus rooms? I heard it blocks P2P which is a bummer. how many mbps for dl? cable or wifi?

Also any USB broadband internet you guys would recommend if the on campus internet is shite?

Cable. And you're not talking about Mbps, it's only 512 kbps if I'm not mistaken, or slower.

Yes yes you'll have lotsa sports, once you get in, probably about Sept you'll see the announcements smile.gif

The unconditional letter will come through registered post. As for the accommodation I've got no idea.
