I'm in search of a few students to rent an entire house or apartment together near the university....

Preferably Taman Tasik Semenyih (TTS), and somewhere further is allright too (if everyone else has a car).

You guys know of anyone who's interested?

what are the procedures of applying for not going retest cause i had just one soft fail? the office is making me so confused
*
It depends on the regulations stipulated within the quality manual.

Check all three of the following. If it says you don't need to resit, then you don't need to.

General Regulations

Simplified flowchart of the general regulations

Supplementary (additional) regulations pertaining to your particular course

Anyone searching for a room to rent off-campus?

I've got a really, really good deal in hand.

But it is quite urgent.

Refer to this http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1981366

Am I missing out something? The Monash thread changed their title to "not an alternative to anyone... ^^"

Which sounds uber weird to me (maybe to others esp new forumers as well)

And with utmost respect and absolute no offence intended, the "not an alternative to anyone... ^^" sounds really funny for me for reasons I dunno why, just totally LOL-ed when I read it. tongue.gif
*
Did our previous tagline change to "a prime alternative to oxbridge" by any chance?

Not an alternative to anyone.

I can't understand this statement.. Probably gotta ask their OP for the meaning.

Added on August 2, 2011, 8:28 pmaddon: the OP probably wanted it to mean, it's not a second choice aka backup plan.

Second one means, winking with one side of the eye and the Y on the right is a victory sign.

LOL that's a new one. ^.<Y

Well, nah.. we shall adhere to professionalism okay? laugh.gif

A spectacular 101 acre campus situated among lush greeneries.

Something along that lines?

Maybe should just revert back to 'Best University in Malaysia' since it is the truth, according to the Provost.

By the way if anyone asks for the student population ratio (Malaysian to non-Malaysian), it's approximately 60:40.

@tanjinjack

lol yeah got ur tag. but anyways I don't think 'humbly 101 acres' is something to shout about as local universities have much larger land area?

@Sicarius

Don't you think most business degrees are jack of all trades master of none? Unless you opt for some specialized programme. To get the number of exemptions you can check them on the respective institution's websites, mostly it's the foundation papers that you're exempted from.

I haven't heard anything from Accommodations - I submitted my application in early June.  Should I contact them?  (I'm an international student.)
*
Yes you definitely should. The website says kindly contact if you haven't heard from us within 14 working days.

If proximity is your first choice, then you should look at TTS5.
If security is your top priority, then you should look at Edu Square.
If new-ness of the house is your preference, then you should look at TTS4.
If budget is your main concern (and you don't have a car), then you should look at TTS2/3/6.
If budget is your main concern (and you do have a car), then you should look at BSS, Pelangi and whatsoever.

EduSquare, for those who don't know, is in TTS5.

*
This is a very good summary. Should add in the first two posts.

As for the good food, you need to add in Restoran 52, and the tomyam noodles in a small little house nearby it.

Probably google maps links would serve well too!

How come I never heard of ppl suggesting Broga? I'll be staying there the coming sem.
*
Hmmm some drawbacks...

Firstly you need a car as there's no shuttle bus, and it's further than staying at TTS.

Furthest place to stay will be BSS, which is probably cheaper,
and guarded, distance to uni is 7KM, only 1.6km more than coming from Broga (5.4km).
It's also more convenient to go to semenyih town, tesco, etc and kajang town.

Abit nearer than BSS would be Pelangi, very new houses (at Aman Villas) but more expensive.

But staying at Broga would be easy for quick and cheap meals, including breakfast (though no halal food is available).

But this needs some planning, e.g. purpose, roadmap..

if not it'll just go defunct.

hey guys. do you if the on campus single ensuite room has a shower? is there a fridge in the room too? xD
basically what does it have and doesn't?
*
Single ensuite basically means it has a private shower attached to the room.
There's nothing else besides a bed, a study table, a wardrobe, and a wall-mounted fan.

uhmm I know it's a 5 bedded flat and shared bathroom. I didn't know it actually meant 5 people for one bathroom! haha...D=
*
Lol.. yeah... can have your quality bromance time. Share the same shower eh.

Laughs aside, the bathroom has... about 3 or 4 showers, and around the same number of sinks and mirrors.

Hello everyone:) I will be going to nottingham this coming september, and was assigned to Langkawi Hall. I have visited the hostels last week, and honestly, I am really disappointed with the quality of the hostel that they provided, I mean it's not on par with the price that they are charging. Anyhow, will still going to bear with it for two months first. Lol.

Just want to ask if anyone know how they charge for other electrical appliances that we bring in, like stand fan, radio and etc? was planning to sneak in with a small portable air-conditioner too. Haha.
*
YES........... it is disappointing considering the price. Dayum I've been to a random international dorm in some university in China, it's identical to a hotel room with wooden flooring.

I guess you can sneak in some stuff..... I'll let the others do the clarifying. I don't stay on campus.
