Hi! May I know, for engineering students, can we buy lab coats at the campus, or do we have to buy them outside on our own? Thanks in advance! biggrin.gif

I think you'll have to buy here as the lab coat comes with the university's logo.

Dear Mathew and tanjinjack,
Thank you so much. smile.gif
1. Could you describe the method of teaching engineering modules? I mean the composition of teaching, problem solving, project, team working, lab, seminar etc.
2. How about the scoring system? I mean it's mostly on basis of test result or practices etc?
3. How many students usually are there in the engineering classrooms?
Regards
Arcy

Thanks for the prompt reply smile.gif cuz i already have a lab coat from my previous college, but it is short-sleeved doh.gif so i wasn't sure whether it'll be allowed here or not. looks like i'll have to buy a new one.

Persian, so far i know that the Sept 2011 intake for Civil Eng had about 80 students. Mech Eng has about 130 students from that intake, if i'm not mistaken. I heard that the number is increasing significantly every year.

As far as I know, mechanical engineering is nearing their limit already, which is thought to be believed at somewhere 150. It wouldn't surprise me if they insist on taking just 130 this year as well.

Dear tanjinjack,
I don't know the common capacity of each course in the other universities in Malaysia and UK. But what is important is that less capacity leads to higher quality of education. Although my course is Electrical Engineering and Arcy didn't mentioned any thing about this course.
It seems that the Nottingham university has a distinct difference in aspect of education quality except its certificate and education system. I mean there are universities with much lower tuition and lower cost of accommodation like MMU and lecturers with same level of knowledge and experience.
Anyway it seems that i have to come to Nottingham because of its certificate and duration of bachelor degree.
My questions is for knowing the realities of this university. Just this.

Yeah, except that you failed to mention it's far if you dont have a car to drove. Even with the school shutter buses, the distance is still far as you need to walk to the main road.

If memory serves me well, there has been a discussion on this on older version (probably V3). Maybe you want to do a search on that particular thread and see?
If memory really servers me very well, the interview is mostly asking about why you choose this and probably some chemistry problems, rather generic stuff I believe.

Which one you like more? The one you like less is harder.
