Hi! May I know, for engineering students, can we buy lab coats at the campus, or do we have to buy them outside on our own? Thanks in advance! biggrin.gif

Thanks for the prompt reply smile.gif cuz i already have a lab coat from my previous college, but it is short-sleeved doh.gif so i wasn't sure whether it'll be allowed here or not. looks like i'll have to buy a new one.

Persian, so far i know that the Sept 2011 intake for Civil Eng had about 80 students. Mech Eng has about 130 students from that intake, if i'm not mistaken. I heard that the number is increasing significantly every year.

*
you should try! i got a C for maths when the requirements said i needed at least a B. but i still managed to get in smile.gif good luck

I just received Preliminary Pre-Offer Confirmation E-mail where I am asked to pay RM1000 in order to get the formal unconditional offer letter. So if I pay the acceptance fee by the deadline is it CONFIRMED that I will gain acceptance?
*
Yes, if you pay then confirmed you're accepted smile.gif Welcome to Nottingham!

ok now, today it send me another email with 6 more attachment zzz im blur now don't know what to do, if i print it all out and bring to the open day on 23th, will got people help me settle all those ka?
*
Hahah , you don't hv to print out everything. Just read through all the info thoroughly..like the date, time & venue for registration.

Except for the L form. If you have taken Malaysian Studies/ Moral Studies in your previous college, or got credit for SPM BM then you hv to print out the form and hand it in before the deadline.

Welcome to Nottingham!

Hi! When i connected to UNMC internet for the first time, after registering, i could use Internet Explorer but why not Google Chrome? As in, when i double clicked the Google Chrome icon on my desktop, nothing happens. Why is that? Sorry for my language, i'm really a noob when it comes to these kinda things.

Have you tried restarting your computer? Are you sure it's related to the internet line instead of issue with your own Chrome? Have you tried another browser other than IE to see if Chrome is the issue?

(Man, now we do internet troubleshooting, too!)

Hahah, yeah, I'm at home now and it doesn't work here as well. So it's my computer that's the problem I guess. Anyway, thanks sweat.gif

*
Last Sept intake.. Civil had abt 80+ students and Chem Eng had 100+ i think.

Hi guys, just another quick question. What is the student population like at Nottingham? I believe somewhere in this thread i read malays to non malays its 60;40. Is that still true..? Also last but not least what is the girl situation at nottingham? biggrin.gif
*
not many malays i think. but if you mean islam to non-islam ppl, then it might be 60:40..i'm not sure though.

girl situation = girl-boy ratio OR no of hot girls? brows.gif

AND GUYS! IMPORTANT AND URGENT! PLS REPLY! CAN I BOARD THE BUS TMR AFTER I REGISTER? OR DO I NID TO WAIT FOR MY STUDENT ID?
*
just board it. haha. the bus drivers never check our IDs. only once in a blue moon, b4 entering the uni, the security guard will check the student IDs of those sitting at the front of the bus.

coz monash is pure crap. i have a lot of complaints from ex students in malaysia campus. my teacher told me her student also exp the same issue. a student with 10a+ in spm is failling all the subjects in monash and staying there a few years to complete with only a pass. then once she arrive in aussie campus, she got first class honours and getting 3.5 up. CONC: lecturers in monash malaysia is trying to con ur money. tat was last year story. probably the lecturers wont change so quickly huh? tongue.gif
but if you ask me on comparison with other international uni i think UNMC is great with its reputation, 1. academic wise i tink it should be ok and might be slightly better than taylors or sunway. one thing tat made me stay was getting an engineering course offered by the UK and allowing me to transfer to finish my studies in england.
*
quite a number of lecturers in UNMC are pretty lousy too you know..but i guess that's part and parcel of university life.

60:40 is the estimate for local vs international.
Guys and girls probably 50:50.
But you are likely to bump into more international, because quite a number of locals travel daily.
Unless you are OKU, or join somehow on Jan intake (which exploits somehow the term) (Jan intake lets you stay for 4 semesters), else it's 1-year. If you are doing postgraduate and happen to be the hall tutor, then you can stay throughout your studies!
Finding a house to rent isn't too hard IMO, just spend a year here, get to know some friends and rent the whole house together with them.
*
Jan intake get to stay for 4 semesters? but but i heard they only get to stay for their 1st yr, about 9 mths only, from Jan-Sept.

im not sure at all. but i know nottingham has a exchange and transfer program. exchange is like a few ppl ni and will graduate here in malaysia but transfer is going to nottingham, nottingham england to finish our studies. transfer has a lot more chances. smile.gif hope this helps. tongue.gif

Added on April 18, 2012, 6:48 pmAND GUYS! i wanna ask if i need stuff like hotspot shield to go on fb games and stuff. coz i will be living off campus and the oni wifi im probably gonna get is from uni. o.o
*
i was told otherwise. transfer is EXTREMELY difficult to get. only the cream of the crop manage to. exchange is easier. also, for exchange program, you get to pay the same local fees whereas for transfer you'll hv to pay the UK fees
